It's comparable to a hit Malkin delivered in 2017 on Blake Wheeler. I looked at the one time Trouba was suspended. Two games for illegal check to head which was called. This was different. It was weird. He led with the same side while going for a stick check. He was going shoulder, but the elbow comes up due to what happened on the play. SN had a good view on it. I'd also say he was going for Sid's shoulder which did contact up high. But the elbow rides up as they're moving. Trouba's history is the two-game suspension with Winnipeg for that illegal check. Fined twice.

Stick never came close the Sids face. I get it you're a Pens fan but watch the replay. Maybe watch the hit again. Sid is great he is a game changer. Was very dirty early in his career let's not forget. Back to "the hit". If you've played hockey you understand better. Trouba is right handed and his left hand in on the top of his stick. Good so far? Poke check hits Sids skates pushing Sids legs out and JTs arm up. Rewatch it and be honest with yourself. Remove the emotion. Hoping he is ok with his history Game is lightning fast. I'm a rangers fan, and don't like Crosby, he is still one of the all time best, he's stopped being a crybaby . I don't want hit to be injured or retire without him making that choice for himself, I have a different view on the hit but I definitely didn't want him injured, especially with his history. Also as someone who has had 6 concussions and have dealt with long term issues from it and more than likely always will, I definitely hate seeing anyone get a head injury, especially given cte and how fast hockey is which a small hit or slip can be devastating. Most. Fans I m close friends with don't like Crosby but didn't cheer or were happy he had to leave the game. That said, I have seen other fans act like classless assholes and mocking him. Even if I really don't like Crosby, I would never wish a head injury on him especially given the few brutal ones he had that almost never returned from. I'm happy he's okay, hopefully he can determine his time and place to retire on his own terms and not from head injuries or any injuries for thatmatter.

Crosbys talent is undeniable, yet he's the softest player in the league, he's a sneaky lil **** and plays dirty while getting away with it cause he's the best player in the world...nobody wants to see anyone get hurt but that hit was not even close to being dirty, trouba has always played that way he puts on BIG clean hits, that's the way he plays.....all he did was tryin to get the puck with the stick and hit Crosbys thigh and caused him to lose his balance and fall into troubas shoulder, unfortunate but it happens....if u wanna talk dirty hits how abt u go and look at the hit that sidelined Tyler motte in the last game that the pens played the rangers during the season.....but as soon as it happens to sid all hell breaks loose and everyone cries like sid....stop being a cry baby like him

Ranger Fan here. Yes it was a high dirty hit but this is part of the atrocities of a battle/war. I expect a fine, suspension and if not, a Pens teammate will go after Trouba in the next game.
