No, I think I’m more in love with Sidney. 😊. I’ve had such a crush on Sidney. It’s something that Mr. Poitier was born with, that most women are in agreement with. Chadwick Boseman had that same something. Chadwick gone to soon.

Seriously, there is no other actor in the world to compare to Sir Sidney Poitier! We are so fortunate to have been graced with this awesome man! We all have our favorites for sure. I am thinking: Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, A Raisin in the Sun, Lillies of the Field, A Patch of Blue, and To Sir With Love! Honestly, there are no mediocre movies that he was ever in. Other greats, No Way Out, Paris Blues, For the Love of Ivy, Blackboard Jungle, In the Heat of the Night, The Defiant Ones, and Children of the Dust. Other good movies of a similar genre perhaps but that he is not in are: I Passed for White (1960), All the Way Home (1957), The Ditchdigger's Daughters (1997), I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (1979), Sounder, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman (1998), Cornbread, Earl and Me (1975), and Polly (1989), and so many more incredibly touching movies that I imagine many have not had the privilege to see, that should! Just wow!

There are so many handsome actors I would pay good money to just look at on the big screen, but with Mr. Poitier, who certainly is a beautiful man, I just want to hear him talk. It's too bad he wasn't fully embraced by the Black community because of his background having Parents from the Bahama's that were in Florida on a visit where he was born at 7 months to get US Citizenship but was raised back home in a British colony . When he got into acting he had to get rid of his Bahamian accent but he couldn't hide how he was Tone Deaf which left him out of any singing parts in a musical .

I just saw "A Patch of Blue" , OMG what a movie. Sidney and Ms. Hartman were FANTASTIC with both their acting skills off the charts. I can't believe i never saw that movie as a child in the 60's. One of the greatest movies I've ever seen, by far. Wow! Touching, heartwarming. suspenseful. A rollercoaster of emotions throughout the movie. Shelley Winters did a great job as well, because she made me hate her so much. lol I found myself yelling at the screen to her. lol I will be watching that movie over and over until the day i die. Ms. Hartman's' tragic real life ending was shocking and sad, to read about as well, but she left a good legacy and body of work that will live on forever. She was a top notch actress, first on the scene in A Patch of Blue, with natural, gifted skills. I know she has been missed. What she gave up due to her mental illness is anybody's guess. R.I.P. Ms Hartman.

His greatness is not about comparisons with other great Actors. It’s about Sidney as a person, a human being playing Roles that were not stereotypical of Black life in America. That’s what he was to Black People. He refused to be disrespected on the big Screen. When he was Slapped by the White man in a scene, he made sure to tell the Producer to change it and let him slap 👋 his back. That’s the scene Black people won’t forget.

One of my favorite films--IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT. Sidney Poitier was so cool in this movie, and the southern town has to learn that the character he plays just isn't like ANYBODY in that town, regardless of anybody's race in that town.
