WOW Thank you for this!! Finally someone I can identify with!! I have audibly heard the voice of God talking before. He has woken me up in the middle of the night before and told me to read the Word or pray or even both. I would also hear Him sometimes tell me about people and things they were struggling with. He has also would share with me about very simple things that would happen just seconds before they happened. Every experience that has been with Him has been unique. God is a Living God, with Holy Spirit assisting in every way we need Him. And Jesus...having made us righteous through His Love and Mercy showing us how to live and breathe Him into ourselves so that He tranforms us into 'His' likeness, His servants, His Church, and His Bride. All He does is good, period...even if 'so called' bad things happen to His People. His Plan, His Thoughts, His Purposes...those things are absolutely perfect!! I had that exact same thing happen to me about 8 years ago. I kept hearing knocking on my bedroom door and got up to open it. On one occasion I was dreaming that someone was calling my name and I was being shaken in my sleep being told to wake up. This was before the knocking..I also got many words in my sleep and have had many dreams and visions.
