Another addition to the CALL UP/PUT DOWN tip - if you are using the options grid, the first is a long call. The max gain is unlimited (U) and the max loss is premium (p). Up! Once I have that, I know a short call is the opposite.

@@Series7Guru Honestly the 63. I work in Operations so I could go for the 99 but I got the SIE to prove to myself that I could learn this stuff if I really wanted to apply myself. I honestly strongly dislike corporate life and wanted to use the certs to make my resume stand out so I could pivot out.

Hi Dean, I've been watching (and rewatching) several of your SIE video content over the past several months in addition to reading from my SIE book and I enjoy listening to your explications. I have taken all of the full length final tests in my STC portal and 4-5 custom exams of 85 questions (13 tests total) and have only received a passing score on one of them of 75%. The last 3 exams I took I scored 68, 69, and 68%, respectively. My exam is on Wednesday afternoon CST (just a few blocks up the street from the Chicago Board of Trade!) and I'm not entirely confident I'll pass. Constantly revisiting the book and reviewing my underlinings and notes in between exams doesn't seem to help me retain information. Chapters 7, 9, and 10 are consistently my weak chapters, but it **seems** like there are more questions about prohibited activities and reportable events to FINRA on the exam that I miss. What would you recommend I do to prepare in between now and Wednesday afternoon? Thanks very much for all of your help and I'll keep you posted on the outcome!

Take Dean up on the Kaplan discount. I was scoring 85% plus on STE tests and a 80% on the FINRA practice exam but scored a 65 on my first attempt on Kaplan. The questions require more depth of knowledge to answer and are frankly trickier. My guess is that the actual exam will be easier than the Kaplan stuff but who knows.

@@fradidababneh9587 "draw" means questions on a real series exam that Dean primarily knows will more than likely show up so he says in videos "i cant imagine any draw (exam that you take) that this topic does not show up. essentially, Dean blesses us by letting us know which questions are more than likeily going to come up on the exam so we can focus our studying time to those specific things from the material. Looks like Tyrell did not get any questions he expected on education accounts like the 529 plan or UTMA/UGMA.

I am studying for the SIE and I am confused on warrants.. why would someone want to purchase shares above the current market value? Isnt that costing them more than its worth?

At issuance it makes no economic sense. For example, stock is $6 and I have warrant to buy the stock at $7 for the next 10 years. Right now that makes no sense but what if 8 years later the stock $40 now it makes sense.
