I’ve read the options section in 3 different books and your explanation makes the most sense. Thank you sir!

Great videos... question - does the exam factor in the premium paid for the option when calculating in, at, or out of the money?
@testgeekexamprepllc45482 жыл бұрын
Intrinsic value ONLY considers the strike price and market price of the stock. The premium is never considered.

Hi Bryan, thanks for the explanation, but I got a bit lost. If the CMV= $63 is lower than the strike price= $65 then is a put or a call? Not clear since 65>63
@brianlee87304 жыл бұрын
I tried to show both. If its a call, the option is out of the money. If its a put, than its in the money. (email: brian@testgeekexamprep.com)
@brianlee87304 жыл бұрын
@@rooneystar3737 No. You've got it backwards. Call -up, put down! Intrinsic value for calls =Cmv > stk pr., Int. Val for puts = Cmv < stk pr. Call up, Put down, Call up, put down.

why would a call be in the money when the CMV>Strk price? don't you want to buy the shares at the CMV when it's LESS than the strike price?
@testgeekexamprepllc45483 жыл бұрын
those are two entirely unrelated points. The option contract allows us to buy the stock at a specific price. If the stock price is above that specific price, the contract then has real (intrinsic) value.
