I just got home from the hospital for the 3rd time in 5 years. My Duodenum is the “problem” area. I have Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. I produce way too much acid and it causes severe bleeding ulcers in my duodenum. The first two times I was in the hospital, I needed pints and pints of blood. Fortunately, this time I caught it before the blood loss really started but it is VERY painful. The damage that’s been done to my duodenum is permanent (scar tissue, very thin wall in places). If it bleeds again I will most likely need the old fashioned type of surgery because there is nothing left to cauterize. It sounds medieval to me. It scares me every time I eat despite being protected by PPIs and Carafate. Thank you for this video. It really helped me to understand my anatomy and therefore my disease.

3:37 For intestine to absorb the food, it has to be moist with good water content like soup. Unless you are having a food with large water content, make sure to drink compensating water….
