In legacy maverick at least, that is pretty common, if you aren't on 61 cards to begin with. The idea is that most of your cards are still good, but the win% you lose from having the 61st card is less than the win% you gain from having the extra sideboard card in your deck, which is usually but not always a gsz target. The reason is that you have SO much redundancy and consistency in your deck that am extra card doesn't meaningfully impact your chance to win the game negatively, but those extra cards being tutor targets means you gain that % back plus some on average because the cards you play just win that matchup. For example, if my 60 card deck doesn't fit collector ouphe in the main but there are artifact decks I expect to play against, I get to win game 1 vs decks like affinity, which I am NOT SUPPOSED TO DO as a slow durtley midrange deck, and can completely change the dynamic and pace of the entire match.

Green Sun is such a broken toolbox card that I'm surprised they unbanned it. The reason for banning it before was because with it in the mix, every single green creature ever designed had to be put through the "can it be abused with GSZ" test. Of course that was when WotC actually playtested their cards. I know people will say that there are other GSZ effects out there now, but they aren't as good. They cost more and / or don't shuffle back into the library.

I think if you play siege rhino in a maverick shell it's as a 1-of or 2-of. It's a pretty solid all-rounder target, can cross the finish line where other cards wouldn't, has an ETB effect so it still does something in the face of removal, and Knight of the Reliquary isn't quite as good without 4-of wasteland, but I'd still play that or another strong threat as the main finisher.
