Hello out there. I not only saw Siegel/Schwall play live. I played with them!!! I am Jos Davidson, their bassist on the first album and with the band from 1964-1967, when I had to leave the band to stay in school and get my degree. Still keep in touch with Corky and Jim.

Joslyn Davidson Hi Joslyn, I've been hoping to run into someone like you. In the early '70s, Corky Siegel was teaching harmonica on the north side of Chicago. Do you happen to have any memories of those classes, where they were, anything else about them? (My very best friend briefly studied with him and I'd like to hear more about the time, the place, the mood, y'know, pretty much anything.)

joslyn--Thank you for that album, one of my all-time favorites. I was a disc jockey in the 60s and 70s and of course have hundreds of albums from That time. 10 years or so ago I started going through my collection was in the stuff I had listen to for decades. Most mostly my response to those albums was: "good Lord, I used to like that?" but when I played across Siegel'schwall album I was able to admire my good taste. it was one of the few albums which withstood the test of time

Your bass playing on that album was solid as a rock!

I wore out the first Siegel Schwall album. Let's see, I was 16 years old and lovin' the blues. I saw a lot of the Chicago guys at Fillmore/Winterland, but unfortunately missed your band. Stay well.

My girlfriend from Detroit (Liz) introduced them to me at Colorado State University in 1972. Remember the black bass player at that time? Stood like a statue the whole concert till the encore, "I'm a King Bee". Brought the house DOWN!!!!

As a 62 yr. old hippy I have never found any other sound that strikes me so deeply like these guys still do. They are so primal and the lyrics are so simple yet so hard-hitting. I've been a fan since I was a youngster back in '69. KEEP ON MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY

Thank you, 1 Camera Video! In the early '70s, Corky Siegel was teaching harmonica in Chicago, on the north side somewhere. Does anyone have any memories of those classes to share? (My very best friend briefly studied with him and I'd like to hear more about the time, the place, the mood.)

does anyone remember a band Jim put together for the 1st mississippi valley blues festival called "Sarge"?
@ChristopherBix3 жыл бұрын
I never saw them perform but recall the name. My band The Mudcats played as Jim's backing band for several years. Greatest time of my career. Jim is a wonderful guy and a great player. We played this song and several others all the time. The stories he could tell.... if you could get them out of him. He actually gave me his day job when he returned to college to get his masters.
