When their tigers would run down the ''cat walk'' and back to the stage, as the show began; I could actually reach out and touch the stage, I was so close. As the tiger ran by, you could smell the strong smelly cat urine as it ran .. These guys never harmed, hurt, or tortured these big cats; they would die for them. I also saw an elephant disappear right in front of my eyes. I don't care who doesn't believe me, my husband was sitting next to me and he saw it too. It happened. Amazing story! Roy had a stroke that terrible night and fell down; his cat didn't attack him, he was picking him up like all cats do to their babies when they need to move them.

That's how I thought of it. Being around those animals for so long, they tend to know when something is wrong. So naturally, the tiger is going to try and help.

Seeing the 'big cats' was on my bucket list for years. I am so glad I got to see them less than 2 yrs before the incident. It is a real tribute to S&R the love they have for these animals they refused to let Montecore be put down.

I honestly think that tiger had no intentions of attacking him. Since Roy had been having mini strokes before, I think the tiger sensed something was wrong and was trying to protect him. Usually when people have been working with tigers as long as these 2 have, the animal will know when something is wrong and try to fix it in their own way.

In the book "The Secret Life of Siegfried and Roy: How The Tiger Kings Tamed Las Vegas" published in 2008, it was mentioned that Roy was starting to have age related problems. He was taking medication for his high blood pressure, had dizzy spells, began to have problems in both knees even though he had a surgery a few years and his joints started to swell and he need it cortisone injections before each show.

@@bibianaguadalupeislasherre9880 Oh, yeah! And being around the tigers for such a period of time, they tend to know if something is wrong. So that's why I was thinking that the tiger grabbed Roy's neck the way a cat carries its babies and not how it grabs at prey.

i took some pictures of the tigers in las vegas and a friend told me that those tigers didn't belong behind a glass wall. in my opinion, the tigers have been raised by people since the day they were born and they'll never b able 2 make it in the wild. plus the tigers appeared healthy and treated well. so it bothers me when people make negative comments on pics or videos like this

Montecore never attacked Roy. Roy tripped while on the stage (Roy thinks he had a stroke at this point) and Montecore was worried about him. So he picked Roy up like a mother would pick up a cub and drag him to safety. Montecore didn't know that humans have arteries on their neck. Montecore is and always will be Roy's friend.

If the tiger had ANY negative intentions towards Roy all of a sudden after 7 yrs being perfectly enough doing a liveshow with 1500 ppl audience nightly twice, Roy would have been dead within few seconds right there on stage with quite other wild fight claw and bite scenes instead of picking him up and carrying him to safety. Also it would have been the owner's plus officials decision to shoot him dead on this if any of your dumbass accusations like ticking time bomb were just near factual. Well guess why not.... ~~> punkidiot typical American Idiot Lil Scott! Never spent a day with a tiger and wants to tell the experts his own made-up lil brain fart. The audacity of the low class overpopulation having done nothing, esp. not for world history - at least not positive.

ps this is coming from someone who is in love with tigers- they are the most amazing animals on the planet IMO and i've studied them for years. That's why i say thinking they can be tamed is insane. they may be playful for years but it takes one bad mood to end a life. one instant. with these animals you NEVER know. they should give those animals to big cat rescue or at a reserve immediately.

Yeah Roy himself said that when he fell off stage Monticore dragged him away to safety, by grabbing him by the neck like they would pick up their cubs.

It's awesome to see so many people defending Roy here. To bad the majority of the world is to narrow minded to really think out this situation. Everyone just instantly labels it as an attack and feuled by the media and the stupidity of the average human being it spreads like wild fire. Now everywhere around youtube people misreference this even though these 2 shared the stage with that same Tiger again with no problems.

Where are you getting this information from? The white gene in tigers (and lions) is a recessive genetic mutation. It's a rare occurrence in the wild, but it wasn't created by humans, it was just discovered and extensively bred by us.

The reason why they did not want Montecore to die is because Roy and Siegfried both knew that Montecore did not attack on person...it was confirmed later that Roy had tripped and Montecore went to save Roy and well...y'know how tigers pick their cubs up from the neck...that's what Montecore went to do...although quite like a great dane not knowing its too big...Montecore did not know that he would ultimately crush Roy's neck. It is so true too....you need to gain any animal's trust :)

It is disputed whether or not the tiger attacked Roy. The tiger had been trained by Roy since he was a cub; he had performed with the act for six years. Fischbacher,said Roy fell during the act and the tiger was attempting to drag him to safety, as a mother tigress would pull one of her cubs by the neck. Fischbacher said the tiger had no way of knowing that Roy, unlike a tiger cub, did not have fur and thick skin covering his neck and that his neck was vulnerable to injury.

I totally agree, they are only showing the beauty of these creatures using magic, love and respect. They truly loved these animals and would never hurt them, and would always think about the animal's benefits first. The tiger did not attack roy but was probably startled or something, if the tiger were to attack Roy, then it would rip him apart.

@deora2dude The tiger's name was Montecore and it apparently was 'protecting' Roy by trying to drag him away by his neck after he'd tripped over the animal's paw. The tiger had just lunged at a stupid woman in the audience who was trying to pet him and Roy got between them and hit it on the nose with his microphone before tripping. They were separated using fire extinguishers. Fortunately Montecore was not put down.

I believe what one person said in a comment well I did have a stroke you can tell that his knees also took effect he had a little problem when monticor jumped up I heard that not only did Siegfried have cancer he also had heart problems I believe he had surgery on his heart the tiger was trying to save Roy the only way he knew how they are together in heaven what God brought together ❤ in life he kept together in death forever rest in peace 🙏 Siegfried and Roy and all of the exotic beautiful animals just passed before them

Wow I'll admit Roy did and does have a special bond with his lions and tigers.
