In 2018, SIEMAG TECBERG Australia (formerly known as WINDER CONTROLS Australia) completed the replacement of the tower mounted Friction Winder including a complete new winding system at CSA Cobar Shaft No 2.The winder drum has a diameter of 2.9m and a payload of 10.4t. During installation, the new hoist was lifted 52m above ground through the roof of the existing winder house. Motor, gearbox and hydraulic power pack were safely lifted into position, installed and commissioned.
