Another video of the Siemens! This time, trying out one of its unique cycles - Wash&Dry 60' or Rapid 15 if it's used without drying. But will it actually complete a Wash and Dry cycle in 60 minutes? Let's see shall we.
2kg load - 3x pairs of Jeans in this. Spins at full 1400rpm with Drying enabled, 1200rpm without drying.

BSH machines have one of the best 15 minute washes of all time. They even get to temperature as well

@@HooverA3060 All BSH machines have had really powerful heaters. Even the ones sold today have them so even they reach temperature. It's brilliant

@@tprods2087 I wish that were true for this one. This only has a 2000W heater. Which compared to vintage ones of 2500/2650W I have is much less powerful

this is quite a decent cycle with drying enabled, especially that final spin. on the regular superquick 15' the final spin is literally just a 1200rpm burst with no hold at all.

It’s ok, but it’s absolutely pathetic with that balancing. Does not need to be that sensitive at all. And it should not advertise itself as “Wash&Dry 60” when it takes well over 2 hours to complete as it’s false advertising really. Quite a let down of a cycle tbh

the balancing doesn't surprise me at all, for BSH. i didn't catch that it took that long for drying. in that case maybe it's not as good as i originally thought... i had similar experiences with my bosch WAQ28470GB where it would take much longer than expected. although in that machine's case it was normally due to excessive balancing and constant sudslocking with immediate cut outs and anti-suds. but also every single rinse it kept adding time because the cycles were all timed incorrectly.

@@thelaundrycookie1200 It's a big problem with these machines, incorrectly timing a cycle which is far from guaranteed to complete in its advertised time. I can't wait for this to go lol

Yes will upload video when I do nxt load so much better than my modern beko uses a decent amount of water programs much quicker I use daz powder

They are, far quicker even on cold fill only which surprised me. And good you're using Daz as it's a rather good detergent

Actually, it tries 2 times to balance for the interm spin (quick 400 burst) but if it can't balance the load in 2 attempts, it moves on to rinse.

This machine is reminding me of my Logixx 8 and Serie 8 machines - it kind of has the programming of both, but maybe it was made during the transition of the two? I agree about the balancing, which is super annoying when you have Reduced Ironing selected. On the Super Quick (Rapid) cycle, the machine will just abandon all hope of an intermittent spin if it can't balance it first time - I think the programming is too biased to keeping to time. Interesting reading comments about the heaters and temperatures. The highest powering rating either of my machines had was the Logixx at 2400w (Serie 8 is rated at 2300w). But I believe the programming on the Super Quick programs never actually reaches the temperature shown on the program - however the machine washes vigorously enough to achieve the results you would expect from the selected temperature on a quick cycle. If the Mixed Loads cycle is anything like my Serie 8, it's like a fast cottons cycle with a reduced wash capacity which will spin at the machine's maximum rated speed.

Actually, mine and Goddayb's Bosches both reach 40 on SuperQuick 15', and they're both from completely different eras, so I guess it just depends on what model you have

@@tprods2087 Apologies if I seemed to discredit you, this wasn't my intention at all. Perhaps you're right about the machine reaching the set temperature, but the glass never feels warm enough to me and 5 minutes to reach 30c seems optimistic - next time I use this cycle, I'll test with a thermometer.

Depending on how high the water level is, will also depend on how hot the glass feels. Lower levels won't touch or be anywhere near the glass, so it will feel much cooler than the water itself as opposed to higher levels that reach the glass. When using a thermometer for lower level washes, possibly take the temperature and minus about 2-5ºc off it to counteract for heat loss from reading through the door glass for a more accurate reading

When it cannot balance after two tries it will cancel the spin in 15min cycly

It's not based on the amount of balancing attempts it does. It has a ~1 minute time limit and if it can't balance after that amount of time it aborts the spin. That's why the second distribution was shorter than the first one both times

No, these are Condensers, Washer Dryers use a complex condensing system that drains the evaporated water away through the pump like a regular Washing Machine on a drain cycle

Perhaps a stupid question: How do I clean the lint filter on this machine, is there even one?

Hey. So the lint filter is behind the round flap on the bottom right corner of the machine. You release the flap by pushing the small tab on the top, that gives you access to the sump and sump hose. The sump unscrews, but make sure you have a bowl, tray or towel underneath to catch any water. Re-screw it back in tightly and close the flap. Hope this helps :)
