This is not surface modeling, this is SubD Modeling. Such modeling is much more convenient and faster to do in programs designed for polygonal modeling (3ds Max, Maya, Blender ....) Check your car models for the smoothness of surfaces with a zebra pattern from lines, this will reveal all the problem areas of the model.

Yes, this is a subdivision modeling and the maximum surface continuity can be achieved is G2 level. The zebra pattern still look good

whycan you split faces as you want? When i try to split just one face wich is connectet to others the faces around get crazy. Please answe me i need it for my college

I wonder if the final model will work? Can they be thickened or sewn into solids? And is the continuity level G1 or G2?

I working with NX. In result you can do rally all surfaces in one and give thicknes.

Many.. NX has capability of Alias, Solidwork, and CATIA in one platform. We can do the entire product lifecyce preocess in NX. NX can do SubD Modeling, Styling, Class A Surfacing, Detail engineering, even for stuning rendering in one software. No need third party for all of them. And nx can make it very fast but also in high quality.
