I've got one problem: After I group all the projected lines and then try to delete some of the unnecessary ones, the entire line group gets deleted. Any advice?

Probably the version you are using affects the results. Try to unselect the Associative option in the Settings.

A slightly easier way to place your grid... create a rectangular sheet on a plane, create isoparametric curves (U & V) in the density you want, project the iso curves onto the face.

That is right, but you can't get mesh face like in the video. Because the method you described all U&V lines is single curves along the facet surface and you have to divide them to create better surfaces, the method as I did all mesh surfaces has a curve it is own so you get better surfaces. But in the newer version of NX, the result may be good. In the NX 9.0, I have already tried Isoparametric curve but some of the mesh surfaces could not be compute by NX.
