So far and by far the best tutorial for such subject in YT. Tks. Today I work with CREO and although it has some great functions it is far away in general from NX.

Thank you, my last video on parts lists was from NX 9, it was high time for an update.

@@alirezasaedi2613 you mean, NX better than Catia? or the opposite?

I have been working for almost 20 years of Catia, NX has worked on much detail in all sections
@learnNX9 ай бұрын
@@alirezasaedi2613I accompanied the introduction of NX at Daimler and, together with a Catia expert, we compared all the functions in detail. At that time (NX7.5), we rated the two CAD systems as equivalent. At the time, Catia was slightly better at modelling, NX was better at linking geometry (WAVE). All gaps between NX and Catia were closed by NX12. Even the NX kernel had to be reprogrammed for this. Today, I consider NX to be the most powerful CAD system. However, any CAD system is only as good as the knowledge of its users, which is why training is so important (welcome to learnNX). Then there are the extensive settings that have to be adapted to the requirements and ultimately the processes from planning and modelling to production.

Great & Big thanks! Now, waiting for the Sheet metal playlist!
@learnNX9 ай бұрын
Now that the basic courses are almost complete, the question naturally arises: what's next? Sheet metal, freeform, cam... but these are just more details on how to use the programme. But how does any modelling begin? What speeds up the process? How can you design more cost-effectively? I would like to fill the next course with these topics, influencing the decisions that need to be made in the design phase, regardless of the CAD system. Of course, I will explain this using NX as an example, but the methods can also be applied in other programmes. I hope that you will also participate in this course.

Thank you for another great video. How can we add in a the title block the total mass of an assy, the sum of all the assy components mass?
@wg11596 ай бұрын
I have many of the same components in the assembly. How do I define the "CALLOUT" for all these at once? Now I have to define this Nr. for each individual instance of the component.

21:38 I don't think this is entirely accurate. It may be that i have some Customer Default setting changed to allow this to happen from long ago and i can't recall exactly which one. But you can indeed select faces of cross-sectioned (or not cross-sectioned for that matter) components and have them update as expected.
@learnNX8 ай бұрын
Hi hoffybeefe, that sounds interesting! Please 🙏 try to remember which setting you have activated to select the component by selecting the sectioned area.

26:02 Save as template Question.Why does the saved file name have an extra "metric"? Thank you.😀
@learnNX12 күн бұрын
Because parts lists can also read parameters such as length, width and height. In this case, the parts list should match the selected unit in the drawing.

Hi now I ask. If your assembly had a part-family how NX handles if the user wants one Table for BOM and shows the different variants for the assembly? Lets say that the part that you set as spare part in your video were different in size so a part family was required and your assembly has two or even more variants.
@learnNX9 ай бұрын
Hi Stocjon, If the assembly comes partially or completely from several part families, the current assembly status is always listed. So if you replace a part family part, the parts list is updated. If your assembly is offered in 10 sizes, you need 10 separate drawings. The greater the variance, the more likely I would only work with part families and only build the assemblies using part families.

I have a question, is it possible to create a bill of materials for a component with multiple bodies? Example a weldment designed in a single part not in an assembly file
@learnNX7 ай бұрын
Yes, this is possible. You must select the "Select Object" option in the "Parts List" command and then select the bodies. The parts list must of course contain the corresponding attributes.

Hi, upon adding $MASS system attribute in my partlist, Mass value is not coming in the column.. Only - (dash) is appearing. I'm using "Reference existing part" template for drawing creation. Could you let me know what should I do to get Mass property of each components ??
@learnNX8 ай бұрын
Hi Jimmy, open a part on your assembly and look under File, Properties, Mass. Have you activate the option "Update Mass Properties on Save" ?
