How does using the text work when you pattern the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 around the circle? Like clock numbers. If I enter 1 and then pattern, then unfortunately I can't change to 2. Is there a trick?

I think there is a trick! In the Pattern Feature command, under "Settings" try the "Output" setting "Copy Feature into Feature Group" and under "Expressions" try the "Create New" setting. Now you can change all copies.

When I try thickening individual letters after dividing the face, the entire surface thickens. Any idea what I'm missing?

Hi John, I think your selection filter is not set to Single Face. Is that the case?

I just discovered that text is limited to 133 characters - do you know if there is a way to have longer text and is it possible to have multiple line of text?

The command has been developed for type stamps, labelling in cast and plastic parts. For these applications, 133 characters are absolutely sufficient. What do you want to do?

Hi@@learnNX and thank you for your reply. I appreciate "limited" need for text tool in CAD. For such an advanced but also expensive software as NX this tools is very basic and limited I must say and pretty much hasn't changed much since NX6 when I started my adventure with NX (I am that old). It's not often I need more than 133 characters. this times I was trying to place numbers from 1-60 along the helical curve and the only way to achieve right spacing was using a space (maybe there are better ways that I dont know about) and I ended up using text tool 5 times. Another everyday gripe for me is to have few lines of text (mould tool label) as a one feature with proper spacing, one feature to edit rather then having separate feature feature for each line. there is a lot that can be done to improve.

@@pchelkaa1 You're right 😟, some commands remain unchanged over many versions! As is so often the case, it's down to demand. On the other hand, I really like the new Structure Designer or the new Feature Template and with Model-Based Definition, the days of drawings are finally numbered.
