my god, this is what i needed. i'm developing a automatic themperature controll unit, 17x AI 16x AO 18x DI and 2x DO. we have some s7-1200's already so thats what i was given to learn with. just found your video on the RTD cards, which helps a LOT. they'll go through a remote IO cabinet connected via profibus. i guess i'll need some AO units to give 4-20mA to the heaters. i'm way to exited to get this going haha

Hi, what current/voltage protectors (power supply) do you recommend for the AC/DC/RLY module? I'm struggling to power it up...

Its an amazing explanation! It would be great if you make a detailed video about wiring the outputs, for the same 1212 PLC. As I find it a bit mysterious + there is a lack of this kind of videos about how to wire outputs in PLC 1212. Cheers!

@IGSElectronics From the product manual, the technical data of digital input shows that logic 1 signal (min.) : 15 VDC at 2.5 mA and for logic 0 signal(max.) : 5 VDC at 1 mA. Does it mean that the CPU will consider input as bit '1' when voltage is higher than or equal to 15 VDC? How the CPU will consider the input as bit '0'? Any value ranging below 15 VDC until 5 VDC would consider as bit '0', is it right? Your answer would help me a lot. A signal generator produces 12 VAC square wave signal. Between the source and our PLC, there is a diode which converts it into a DC half wave signal. Certain resistor combinations creates the stepped voltages like 9 V, 6 V and 3 VDC to indicates the different states. This signal is of PWM type and carrying some information. If I step it up beyond 15 VDC to be considered it as logic'1' signal, the new voltage values on the path will give feedback at source side through detection circuit. The source side must detect +9/-12 V, +6/-12 V and +3/-12 V in AC form. As the source signal has the range of +12/-12 VAC and standard values as per IEC protocol must be programmed in controller of source side. Any hint or guidance would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much for the informative video!!😊

Hi There. I have not looked in to the manual my self regarding this matter, but for what you are saying, it is min 15v required for input to be considered as 1 and anything below will be considered as 0.

Thanks for the video , I have a issue that there is a 911ohms resistance across DI signal in an SM1223 and 20.9 V DC voltage is coming back to PLC even if contact not closed . Is there a wire break resistance setting in the PLC or what for the resistance is used . Can you please guide me on other your experience. Thank you in advance .

Thanks for the video! at 5:22 why did you use that for powering the output? is it for demostration only or that sort of installation comes from a regulation?
@IGSElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicolas. The wiring for PLC's, there is no regulations but more or less code of practice. Every designer will wire there panel differently as long as general electrical rules are fallowed. How you get to end goal is up to you. I separate my input power supply from output power supply as my personal preference and experience. I have seen thing been done many different ways, but the end goal usually is the same. Hope that answers your question.

what is the difference between dc or rly output from plc ?
@IGSElectronics3 жыл бұрын
Relay is classed as switch and different types of voltages and volt free signals can be used. Transistor is limited to only output 24 dc voltage, but it is much faster.
