Just got back from Italy. We had planned on only staying a short while in Siena too but fell so in love with it we stayed for three days. I climbed to the top of that tower(Torre del Mangia) and was rewarded with spectacular vistas of the surrounding town and countryside.

It should be required that tourists visiting this magnificent church should remove their shoes before entering, or should slip on a cloth liner. The Duomo's mosaic floor, by itself, is a World Heritage treasure that has no equal in Western civilization.
