After washing it off in the last video we get the car up on the ramp and finally get a our first look underneath. Having inspected the underside we fitted a new cambelt and water pump, fuel tank and pipes and hit the start button. Once again thanks for your support and please leave us a comment.

Hi Paul, back in 2004 ish I restored an RS 500 , E100 VAW no 250/500 , it was a Barn find and as rotten as a crisp , It had to be a reshell as back then they weren't worth the hundreds of hours in labour and new panels to keep the original shell ( dont hate me) . so a nut and bolt rebuild followed on a new 3 door motorsport shell with sunroof.... I had a lot of fun doing this project with my Brother , sadly he has passed away now.... I still have the rebuild pictures on " Floppy disc" ! I often wonder where the car i now . all the best and thanks for the memories Rachel Plant

I can’t wait to see the transformation in this iconic car.. from way back in 87/88 i always said and still to this day the best ever car built the legendary RS500 COSWORTH and to see one sell for just short of £600k obviously with 5k on the clock may suggest i was right all the way WHAT A MACHINE 😍

I was chatting to the guy whose friend sold the £600k Cosworth and the main reason why it sold for that much was 2 guys, one from Ireland and one from Dubai wanted it badly, not sure they are worth that sort of money unless you are minted and want one so bad you don't care how much.

Paul you're a braver man than me grabbing coils on cylinders you know aren't firing right and not been used in near 3 decade 😂 Mate just watch what you are doing as i witnessed my Uncle do the exact same thing and manhandled some old coils on a Evinrude outboard engine and his thumb blew apart in front of me. It even made the bursting noise i thought i was in the old Doom game as it blew the nail clean off and split the sack type pad thing inside it and was all ripped under the thumbnail where it had blew off, the tomato sauce was in my eyes and everywhere else i could see. Off the back of that I got myself a cheap glove that can take it if i get stung by the coil packs and im glad i did too because a bad coil on CBR1000 older model back when they brought the electronic steering damper in still gave me a nice wee warning buzz through the glove. That would have been a full finger explosion for sure as when i checked they coils history they were notorious for zapping mechanics and causing permanent finger injurys. They were the Exact set that got Honda got the bad reputation for coils. Bullet dodged sir but its the day you have the bad bit right on a finger tip that it arcs right throught and up to the nail and yeah... Tomato Sauce EVERYWHERE
