Wuthpa is a word that comes from the Temne tribe in Sierra Leone which is given to a festival of floats that in Sierra Leone marked Eid - Ul - Fitri which is the end of the muslim month of Ramadan. It involves a torch light procession of large motorised carnival floats carrying elaborately designed structures in tissue paper, wood and
wire, it also involves fierce competition between different lantern groups to win the prize for building the best 'lantern'. The music which is normally heard at this occasion is called Bubu music.
