This beer is fantastic. A friend of mine drives in from Washington state to visit us twice a year and brings me a trunk full of beer. Last time he brought a 6-pack of the torpedo and one of their mixed packs. I couldn't get enough of this one, so tastey and balanced.

Joe! Having long said that IPA’s aren’t your favorite; extra appreciate you not only giving this one a shot, but really diving in and exploring its characteristics. That speaks very highly to your love of the beer making craft. Cudos!

The can redesign is a little disappointing. The romantic nature scenery on every bottle and can is one of my favorite parts of the brand. I generally prefer this from the bottle regardless. I have fond memories of this beer. It actually may have been the first Backcountry Beer, since I distinctly remember taking it with me on one of my backpacking trips in undergrad. I do think that Sierra Nevada makes IPAs the way they should be. I think people who don’t enjoy IPAs can enjoy them. All this forest beer talk… maybe it’s time for a backcountry beer review.

It’s always time for a backcountry beer review my friend! I couldn’t agree with you more about Sierra Nevada making IPAs the way they should be. After trying hundreds of different variations over the years, this one in particular has to be my favourite and what in my mind every IPA would use as inspiration and try to reproduce with their own twist.
