How do you manage the silencer-mirage? With my gun/silencer i can shoot max 6 shots in one series , before the target begins to blur..
@THLR4 жыл бұрын
I just grab a cup of coffee or do some filming after 15 shots.
@colinsimmons2913 Жыл бұрын
It is probably a hot day in Norway at 10c.I can only get about 5/6 shots before the target is floating around at 35c/40c and take 3/4 of hr to cool down

About wind direction I have found that working with only 3 parameters is sufficient; 3 & 9 O’clock crosswind = 100% wind value. 2, 4, 8 & 10 O’clock = 90% wind value. 1, 5, 7 & 11 O’clock = 50% wind value. Nothing in between - this is plenty good enough because there are so much uncertainty when estimating wind. This method supports fast calculations without tools etc since most people are able to divide a number by 2 or subtract 10% from a number. It is fast and works well out to 1000 meters...
@THLR4 жыл бұрын
Go four. Just as 90% is for when it's ALMOST but not quite straight in, when you can barely discern left or right, 25% works well. For half left/right use any reasonable %. The wind fluctuates 10-20° and that is also beyond shooter's perception ability. (You need proper instruments to see that)

Sure you wrote earlier, but how often clean your barrel? Do you clean your silencer?
@THLR4 жыл бұрын
This barrel I cleaned after 400. The molycoated bullets had left no residue, so I'll try cleaning it after every case/500. I always put oil in the barrel and remove it before shooting. My hunting barrel gets a few brushes after each shooting, so that's every 50 to 100 rds. I stop a white patch 1 cm from the muzzle and shine a light. That let's me see how much copper there are and I clean after that.
@beres704 жыл бұрын
@@THLR Thank you. Almost just as I. If I have competition day after practicing I never clean just one slide of a bore snake.

Great video, curious why did you switch your optics from the THLR reticle to the Blaser duplex? Is this for hunting reasons? You see the target better when hunting if your just using the duplex? Thanks

A few videos ago, you said that the ammunition you use is very cheap. How much does the diamond match cost for 50 cartridges in .308? Greetings from Austria✌
@THLR4 жыл бұрын
308 is more expensive, but right around 1.3 euro per shot. The cheap price is 6.5×55 only.
@pieezio14 жыл бұрын
@@THLR yes that is not cheap. I would like to try the diamond match with my gun but i cant seem to find it near me. I currently use the sellier and bellot match .308 147grs/ 9.55g which costs about €40 for 50 bullets and it really works well with my gun. I just started shooting and you videos have really helped me alot. Thank-you!👍🌿

6,5×55, the world's most underrated longrange cartridge and almost a national standard in Norway
@cratxn14 жыл бұрын
Would it be fair to say that with the new powders, better BC bullets, moly coated bullets and laser range finders...the 6.5x55 does everything the 6.5 PRC, 6.5x284, 6.5 Creedmore, 6.5x47, .260 etc. were designed to do as "improvements-on-the-Swede" AND ITS CHEAPER TO SHOOT?
@Jacob-si1xx4 жыл бұрын
The Swede is a very good cartridge/design - it is stressed by the popularity alone. But ot should be compared to equal cartridges which would be 260R, 6.5CM. The 6.5-284 and 6.5PRC are almost unbelted magnums and produces significant higher MV.
@THLR4 жыл бұрын
Almost. You're dim if you shoot anything else here, 40% more cost and no extra terminal performance. But copper bullets are looming (or at least lead free) so I'm going to invest in something 6-7mm with higher V0.
