It's just crazy to think that other resort town like Gstaad and Adelbodenin the Canton of Bern are just on the other side of that mountain range but you have to drive around the mountain for such a long time. Anyway, Switzerland is beautiful.

A good question, Ryan! You may google for the "Lötschberg Tunnel" which is a long railway tunnel cutting through the Bernese Alps of Switzerland. It even offers a car transport service through the tunnel, between Kandersteg station and Goppenstein station.
