Although Sifan Hassan is a great runner, this record is rather embarrassing. It is a record because this type of race is run little. In fact, this record was broken at least 70 times in a half marathon. If Sifan kept the same pace up to 21,097.5m, he would run the half marathon in 1:06:52. At the same time, Sifan Hassan herself managed to run a half marathon in 1:05:15, which is a much better performance than this one. So far (2021) in one hour, Sifan's Abyssinian colleague has managed to run the furthest in the women's half marathon, approximately 20083 meters (1153 meters more).

11.637 miles in an hour! It looks like she could do more. She is so tough. I've recently started following women's running again after many years of not being interested. As a former runner I sometimes gauge women's running comparing my times vs women's times. If you could compare. So much interest to watch women race for me, especially cross country.

I know some country’s had harder restrictions but depending on where you were based lockdown was a great opportunity to get fit aerobically

@@lukejohnston1019 yes for Average Joe as myself I didn't wash hands, didn't follow restrictions just went out 7days a week for aerobic base and enjoyed my life ☺️ In case of elite story could be similar as too much racing is breaking the base and starting season later could be productive as record wise, not sure about incoming in prize money but Nike will take care of their top guns as does Adidas.
