I'm really blown away by your creativity when it came to drawing on that bottle, using the iridescent spaces to work around and using the metallic sharpies to compliment that sheen already there and the theme you went with of course is so satisfying with the way the barnacles frame your art- consider me inspired!

Hi, Simon, Can you recommend the best solution for cleaning old bottles, please I was recently on holiday at Wells next the sea and did a bit of mud larking and found two old broken codd bottles with the Wells Norfolk on them both, my research turned out that they were both Robert Claxton Park Road Mineral Water Wells Norfolk. I also found the smashed bottom of a mallet or onion bottle and lots of old crockery. I look forward to a reply and also your next video, all the best Robbie

I've always wondered about your mud shoes- They obviously work well, but look like they should be worn the other way around. I love the doggy art for Black & White scotch. The 20s-30s were a Golden Age in commercial illustration, IMO. Those guys could DRAW! (being an artist myself, they had a big influence on me) PS- I like Adam's channel! Hey- nice job on the bottle!

I have dug the base from a broken Janos bottle here, so it was exported to the USA too. I dug it in a swamp behind a 19th century house that became a home for Catholic Nuns later. In 1969, a hurricane came and destroyed that house, killing 14 Nuns. Anyway, there was a really cool broken toilet in that swamp that I suspect came from the house, and it said Arhns and Ott New Orleans. The house had been on a beach with the bottle dump in a swamp behind it. 👍😊

Wow! A huge bottle day! They were all amazing, but your torpedo bottle has to be my favorite just from the joy and excitement on your face and in your voice as you talked about it. That green bottle was gorgeous - maybe not as interesting from a history standpoint, but great for decorating! 😂 You had a truly great day. I loved watching Adam and Alex, too, with their finds. It’s fun to see the interaction and how enthusiastic they are and so open to your opinions and suggestions. And so happy to see Alex got his wish for a pipe! Your artwork and creations are always beautiful and I love watching you work on them, but this bottle is something else entirely! I’ve said before that you have a special eye most of us simply don’t have. You look at things and see beyond what’s visible to the average person. I’m impressed with the fact that you didn’t feel compelled to completely strip the bottle of barnacles which, I think, would be the impulse of most of us. Instead, you understood the visual interest the texture added. And I’m beyond impressed with the way you looked at that bottle and not only visualized a drawing, but visualized it making use of the iridescent patches as highlights to your design, understanding how the curvature would make them play. Then you just sat down and drew it! And it’s all perfectly drawn, beautifully shaded, and you were able to get the proper proportions for the curvature of your “canvas”! It really is stunning. And it seems the ever lovely Daisy agrees!

Great find with the torpedo bottle. For your upcycling adventures have you tried using a consolidant like Acryloid B-72 dissolved in acetone to preserve wood? The pulley and block would have been nice to try to preserve if possible.

Depends on what you've found. There's other options for consolidants as well, I've tried InstaMorph dissolved in acetone with good results for wood artifacts

Lovely bottle finds Si, I think the Vin De Dusart is an old old French medicinal wine bottle, from the early 20th century. The torpedo bottle was a fantastic find!! It's absolutely gorgeous, I love it! I find the skeleton remains of the ships to be quit interesting, imagine the stories they could tell.
