Jeet Kune Do - This is not a style, as most used to think. Technically, Jeet Kune Do is more of a mixed hand-to-hand combat system based on the principle of preempting attacks. The name itself speaks for itself: from the Cantonese dialect of the Chinese language, Jeet Kune Do - "The Way of the Leading Fist" (Jit - get ahead, intercept, Kun - fist, Do - way). Jeet Kune Do cannot be called a style because there is no standard technique that is taught in the same way in all clubs in the world. In addition, the technical arsenal is not limited and is constantly being developed and supplemented. This is the essence of Jeet Kune Do: there is no "point A" and "point B", the final stage of mastery. There is no limit to perfection, but we must strive for it. Jeet Kune Do, as a mixed system, relies not so much on the technical arsenal, but more on the principle (core, engine), in this case, the tactics of advancing. It is the principle that makes it a weapon, technique is a tool. Jeet Kune Do, of course, has its own technical base, which helps to understand the principle and, most importantly, start learning to use it. But this is the base, not the whole system. The main task of Jeet Kune Do is to teach how to work freely, not remembering how it is “allowed” to hit the system, but how it is “not allowed”, without remembering learned combinations that may not be appropriate in this particular situation and, ultimately, develop your own fighting style. The philosophy of Jeet Kune Do preaches freedom and the ability to adapt. This is a philosophy not only of combat, but of life in all its manifestations. Jun Fan's slogan: "Move like water.
