Have you chronographed your ammunition? As a benchmark, it would be useful to chrono M80 ball, which would allow us to compare with 20" and 22" barrel rifles.

Watch your shooting form on vid. First shots you keep your cheek well planted at recoil, next group jerking your head of as soon as trigger breaks, last group still lifting your cheek slightly on break. Consistency is key!
@Mrkelsmiller552 жыл бұрын
I also noticed the same thing, keeping your cheek weld will help the accuracy. Lifting your head to look down range will hurt your accuracy. IMO

Nope! Strictly MP. Last deployment I was on, we had a detachment with us. They didn't speak to us, and I didn't care. But our squad leader had a hard on to being their best friend for some reason. He got a few patches from them and passed them out. "Souvenirs," I guess. Years later, I pulled it out of a box of stuff, and it's been sitting up there ever since. Thanks for telling who it was though!

I like the gun however I would personally rather see the .308 and the 6.5 Creed moor with a 20" bbl. I think it puts the gun in a more forgiving velocity node and would cut down significantly on blast. I'm thinking the gun was designed with the expectation of running a suppressor. This is pure speculation on my part. Then again if you have access to 277 Fury ammo than the 16" barrel isn't really holding you back. Me personally, I wouldn't buy one unless it had at least a 20" barrel. Come on Sig lets get some barrel options.
@AlabamaVeteran3 жыл бұрын
I agree. The short barrel does have limit you in that regsrd. But, I actually like the shorter barrel, just for a compact rifle. I believe there is a manufacturer that's coming out with carbon fiber wrapped barrels. And I may pick it up next year. Definitely agree about Sig offering some barrels in the future. I think they'll make a killing if they do.

The SIG Proprietary feed lips on the Magazine follower were designed that way so you could easily load a single round into the barrel with the magazine empty.. Great Idea I thought.. I hope someone down below did not say this already.. And the Magpul Bipod can be turned backwards with the knob loosened so the bipod won't stick out past the barrel.. (well that's the way I do mine.).

How far do you think you can reach out using the lpvo?
@AlabamaVeteran3 жыл бұрын
Oooo! That's a good discussion. So many variables. Personally my opinion, I wouldn't use a 1-4 past say 300 maybe 400 max. I have made shots though put to 600 with it and held consistent groups. It really depends on a number of factors. Shooter skill, ballistics, scope capability such as, does the reticle allow for drop compensation, (IE mil reticle of some type) is the scope base a 20MOA so you can fail the scope to get the most out of your turrets? Do you know the external ballistics of that bullet? However that being said, I have also been able to shoot sub MOA with iron sights (as seen in the video attached) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnWoYY1vZq1jaNk

How do you like it with the LPVO
@AlabamaVeteran3 жыл бұрын
I like. This is a stand in until I find something else. But for majority of shots where I live, distance can be between 25 yards out to an average of 150 yards. Rarely I can get 2-300 yards. When I do pick one out this probably going to be a 2-10 power. Just for that low magnification.

3 shot groups don't count
@AlienMetals3 жыл бұрын
That's bs. If you can go out and shoot 3 shot groups that consistently measure extremely close than I really don't think it's giving you bad data. Having said that if you shoot a 1/2" group and the next one is 2" than your not really doing yourself any favors. We all know the guy who got lucky and shot a fluke 1/2" group yet most others are all over the board Now he's got a 1/2" gun, well yeah that's bullshit. I don't think it's smart to lump everyone into the same category. For most shooters 3 shot groups are misleading but that doesn't mean that some people maintain a strong skill set and when combined with a consistent firearm than you can learn from 3 shot groups.
@AlabamaVeteran3 жыл бұрын
More than 3 shot groups would definitely be nice. (If I had enough money for more ammo) but a three shot triangulation still is enough to get some decent data. Funny thing. I know I'm a decent shot at least from the video below. I'm going to follow up with some more video on load development in the future of anyone interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnWoYY1vZq1jaNk
