I wish the background noise weren't an issue, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how my P229 came to be. It's good to know that I could probably make my own SIG at home. Now I just need to see if I have the necessary machinery laying around in my shed.

As usual, awesome. The presentation reminded me of those factory tours on Mr. Rogers, you just need smooth jazz and a sweater. I so have one suggestion though, perhaps using a lapel mic for onsite audio capture. I think this would help the clarity of the audio capture in those noisy environments. Keep up the great work!

I love my sig's all 4 of them :) I have one of the first 226's to be sold in the USA back in the late 1970s in 9mm and it is still like brand new after many thousands of round plus as a CCW holder I carry it everyday...until I can afford a new 226 in 40 S&W since I just got a new sig 1911 last month...go SIG!!

I'm reading this comment 9 years later, how's it holding up for you? Bought my first Sig 2 years ago, a P365 and have carried it nearly every single day since I bought it. Only negative I can comment on is my sweat caused the magazines to rust as well as the slide but it's not terrible.

Hello, nice video, thanks. Just i have a question, why first honing the hole, and then make GFM hammer ,if like this order, how to guarantee the straightness of the barrel hole ? if we made the barrle hole, i think will let the hole honing into the last process.want to know your opinion) thank you !

I own a Walther PPQ M2 in .45 and .22 as well as a SIG 226 Elite. The SIG is a recent purchase and before that my two Walters were dream guns. Both are so accurate and their factory trigger is the best on the market I find. However as soon as I pulled the trigger of my SIG on the range I knew she will be my favourite gun because I keep hitting the bullseye constantly. The Walthers are excellent guns but my heart is with my SIG.

Few consider the old stamped carbon steel slide better than the solid stainless steel slide of today. To many possible failure points with a slide that is wielded together versus solid steel in my opinion.

They aren't wasting that much material. The billet size depends on how big the square end is.For example, If the square is 1/2 inch, you need a billet size of about 3/4 inch. Even larger for a rectangular shape. It's trigonometry.

+mikeworld39 The workers in this video are different kinds of industrial mechanics. They usually don't have special training other than the standard german vocational training to become a Geselle, which takes 3 1/2 years. The guys who check the gun's safety and accuracy however are gunsmiths, a different education that only very few companys offer. It requires an accomplished mechanic training as well as practical experience (it's called a Meisterbrief in German) and a clean criminal record.

It’s a great all around pistol kzbin.infoUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ , doesn’t fit in plastic glock 19 holsters but will fit in some non plastic ones. The location of the safety isn’t very good because your finger will accidentally activate it but it can easily be removed by pulling on both sides at once. Don’t lose the red o-rings while doing that.

The myth that somehow German machines make a higher quality gun than US Machines is silly. The "touch labor" and individual craftsman have very minor roles in manufacture and little difference in overall quality. US manufactured Sigs today are every bit as good as Sigs manufactured in Deutchland. New Hamshire uber alles!

Try pronouncing the full name for SIG....Schweizeriche Industrie Gesellshaft. I once had a case prosecuting a pot grower with a bunch of high end guns. So back then growing pot is a felony so he was committing a felony while armed. As part of the plea deal he forfeited all but 2 of his guns. So I made a list of thr guns he was forfeiting.....and the judge was trying to read the list. We came to SIG. And the court reporter interrupted to asked how is SIG spelled. So I said S. I. G. just type in SIG. otherwise it will be Schweizeriche Industrie Gesellshaft.. i tried to pronoucr in my best worse Hogan's Heroes German accent. The judge was impressed I could say it and laughed at my lousy accent.
