I just checked mine, and it's quite visible in a completely dark room. Even in a lighted room with my hand completely covering the top of the slide and sight, it's still visible. I haven't fired a regular 365, but this sas with the ported barrel seemed to kick less than a 938. I've watched a few videos on these and a lot of people get bent out of shape about the shaved controls and the porting, but I like it. It will take a little getting used to as far as sight placement vs iron sights, but I knew that coming into it. I also don't expect it to be as accurate on paper as a target gun. it's a short barrel pocket gun for hitting man sized targets quickly and I think it will excel at that. I just think some people expect it to be great at everything

What I may do is buy the SAS and then later just buy the standard slide with the irons sights to experience both capabilities.

Close range gun fighting tool. Meant for shooting people fast and close. I don’t understand the reason for slow fire bulls eye shooting...... this gun is made for pocket/NPE carry.
@yambo9822

The reason for it is that a vast majority of people that come to indoor shooting ranges stand and shoot for bullseye only, without understanding the main purpose of the firearm. We have seen that how people group is a large motivating factor if they decided to purchase a firearm or not. Is it practical for this firearm? No. Will people renting this firearm understand that? Most likely not.

Yes, I'd like to see the SAS shot at a bad guy paper target. Shooting at small circles isn't very realistic. It's a get on center mass quick, micro 9mm self defense gun. I think, 10 yards or less would be ideal.

My new Sig P365 SAS has no ports. It is designed as a close-quarter defense CCW. If you need to hit a target more than 15 ft. away, have a great lawyer and a different gun.

Pretty good video guys. I installed this sight on my Sig P228 M11 A1 9mm and really like it. I have 500 rounds thru it and shoot it better than when I had the factory irons on the rear. Good stuff! Thanks!!!

I have the original p365 . Hundreds of rounds have gone through it, no failures, except ammo a couple of times. Bad primers. I now have the P365SAS, love it! Only 50 rounds through it. That’s all the ammo I had. Great sights! Snag free. Carry it every day. Get it!

I really like the concept of this gun, particularly having the FT Bullseye sights milled down into the slide. This video brings up an interesting issue that I hadn’t really considered before though with the adjustment the shooter has to make due to more of the slide covering up the target. The sight not being very visible in very low light is concerning as well. Not a big fan of the flush controls or the porting. I wonder if the price will come down in time. For the extra $80 the SAS version costs I could buy a 12 and 15 round mag for the standard p365.

To those who have a dim sight, it may have oil under the sight. Clean it up and it should return back to same brightness! In true darkness (lights off in bed) you can see the sights well If anyone hs any questions, give me a holler!

Got to handle one yesterday. I think it's a great pocket gun concept for those that pocket carry but there is no advantage over the standard for other carry methods. The gun is supposed to have tritium in the sighting system according to Sig's product page. The gun my shop had was also worthless in low light. I was hoping that it was dead tritium but based off your guy's experience that might not be the case.

I agree with that. This is really a pocket gun. I just purchased one f these even though I already have a standard P365. I intend to use it with a Vanguard II Trigger Guard to just slip in a pocket when that form of carry is needed. I find the sight actually works quite well for myself for quick acquisition. It really pops up and catches the eyes. I can pass on the ported barrel. Will probably just replace it with a standard barrel.

@@randygiedrycz4033 How is your sight performing in low light? I've seen a ton of brand new Sig's with dead tritium so I'm hoping that's the case with the gun in this video and the one I've handled.

@@HarrysHolsters In a completely darkened room (i.e. walk in closet) I can easily see the sight illuminated with the tritium only. So at least in my sample, the tritium is working. That said, the light isn't nearly as bright as when illuminated from external light, when it's much brighter. By the way Harry, I purchased one of your Icon Revolver holsters several months ago and it's been a great IWB holster for my S&W 442 and Model 60. Definitely quality work. That Mod W clip is great.

The ported barrel and slide concerns me let me explain why. First off I love the firearm I have 2 but the porting think about a realist time like in your car right? Someone comes up to harm you or your family and you have to use it. Think of all the gas and debris that comes out of it especially hollow tips? Now all that’s in your face. Yes I love my 365 just not sure about the porting part considering this is a very small and amazing pistol. I guess I will have to make that choice after shooting one tomorrow and yes in my scenario at least you and your family are still safe and alive it’s just something to note before making the purchase.

I bought one and after 50 rounds, I am selling it. The low light situation and not seeing the rear sight is a major design flaw. I was at an outdoor range at noon and the range had a cover for shade and I could not see the rear site, We had to move to a lane at the edge that had a bit more light coming in. For a self defense gun, this is a no go for me. Also what they said about the rear slide covering most of the target to sight in on it, is true, I experienced the same issue and for me, I did not like it. It may not be an issue for you, but the low light sight issue is a problem, in my opinion.

Really a shame about the lack of tritium. If you’re going to put this kind of investment into such an interesting design, why not spring for the tritium to ensure it works at night?
