Thanks for the historical summary of its design. When KZbin reviewers don't mention it, viewers end up thinking it's a 100% Swiss design. Which it's not. It's Swiss, French, American and even German if you count the choice of ammunition.

thats true. it's also true that most modern weapons today have borrowed at least a little from the design of other existing firearm. ak

Got mine in December , while " pricey " it's still half the cost of an original Swiss made . Those lucky owners of both Swiss and German models have raved about the American. Mine likes heavier bullets and is a dream to shoot . It was designed to shoot all types of ammo including plus P . With beaver tail there is no worry no hammer bite . And I prefer the American style magazine release. I've taken mine apart and it truly is well made . Bruce Gray of Gray guns on sig forums told the diehard skeptics that it was very well made using modern improvements in manufacturing coupled with hand fitting . He was right . One owner of a Swiss 210-5 heavy frame said his American outshoot his Swiss gun producing 1 inch groups at 25 yards off a sandbag . The originals were supposed to shoot 2 inch groups at 50 meters or they failed . I had a retired Air Force security vet shoot mine at 15 yards and all the holes were touching . I can't do that , yet ! But I have ZERO regrets buying mine and believe it will go down as one of the finest p-210 made . I belong to a sig p210 group on Facebook and many of the members have collections of p210s and the consensus it that it's a great shooter and a real bargain . Just wish it was chambered in 10 mm or 357 sig . If they ever do that , I will buy another one ! This pistol will stay in the family and someday pass on to my son , another USAF security force vet .great review and great shooting ! LOVE My p210-A !

This is a target pistol. It should be shot at 50 feet minimum for testing. It has a very different 2 stage trigger that breaks at about 3 1/2 pounds, rather light for a carry gun. I just got one and I could maybe get 3 inch groups at 20 yards from a sandbag as did my buddy. Not much to brag about, but I think I could improve that with practice and different ammo.

tough one but I would say the 210 is a pistol that has been on my mind for several decades now. I just wish it was a double stack like the shadow. ak
