The 320 is internally the same between the models. It depends on which grip module fits your hands best and what slide work you want done. I have smaller man-hands and the small size x-carry grip module fits my hands much better than say, a glock 19, for example, which has a bit of a fatter grip. The small, medium and large sizes on the 320 grip modules refers to fatness btw. For anyone wondering.

Just got mine and put 200 rounds through it and WOW - I think Sig really knocked it out of the park on the X-Compact. The P320 X series has brought me back around to polymer striker guns in a big way. With a street price only a little more than a G19, you get A LOT more with the X-Compact.

I like Sig Sauer. I've had good experience with them. I carried a P250 for some time. I finally upgraded to a P320 carry but swapped the grip for the same grip I've been using for a year or so on my P250 (the actual same grip, not the same model which i think is a nice feature between the 2 pistols) and it's currently in performance testing to be my new carry gun. An ALMOST perfect ccw option right out of the box.. I’m just a little bummed out that the red dot mounting plate includes the rear sight, eliminating the potential for co-witnessing my irons with my red dot. Then again, the x-ray sights are fantastic and I don’t necessarily need an optic on my ccw..

Bought a fullsize P320, swapped the module for the X-series, and am qualifying with it to carry on duty as I prefer it to the Glock. Getting this will be perfect for an off duty or backup. I like the 365 but it's just SO small that I find the stock version hard to manipulate as I have large hands. The 12 rd version is the only only I'd really use and this is 15. Thanks for the comparison with the M&P. Just sold my 2.0 Compact it was an outstanding gun for the money

@6:13 I am all for choices & some like red dots , I seems to me if you have a small gun , the point would be to keep it small .. or get an Xcarry or larger to mount stuff on . Night sights are my #1 choice on most all guns that have two systems or are open sights . Thanks for the up date on the drop issue , bad news travels faster than good news .

I've been looking at the X-Five myself. Absolutely love the P320 M17, also have the commemorative edition, but that's Shadow boxed for Collectors purposes. My theory about why you keep seeing comments from ppl about old fixed problems is 1. They are Glock fans that are still bitter that Sig Won the Contract & 2. They fail to recognize that in QA industry drop testing...IT PASSED all Drop tests that meet industry standards. Sig still done good, changed a couple small things & made good. Some just cant let go. Thank you Ty! They only issue I have with Sig is how they have handled the PR of the P320 and P365 issues. They basically swept it all under the rug without publicly acknowledging that there are serious issues. Had they done that, I think more people would be forgiving. From what I'm hearing now the problems of old are fixed with that gun, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to drop 500 to test it myself. Hell after I heard of all the issues I actually bought the Taurus G2C which same capacity & very close to same size. So far the Taurus has impressed me, but still hasn't replaced my G26 as my back up concealed weapon. I hope Sig does get their act together in the PR front cause they do make one hell of a product.

I have to admit I don't quite understand people having a bias against Sig for those reasons, but NOT also against Glock- perhaps they weren't all that big on Sig to begin with, so it confirms one's potential bias? The reason I feel that way: Sig, and many others, are just following Glock's business model of handling everything as an upgrade/fix/enhancement- no Recalls. Glock has had at least three 'non-recalls' that were Safety related. Glock also perfected the art of using customers to Beta Test and then implement unannounced rolling updates to make fixes. Examples of this are the early gen5s with chamber throats too short and the front mag cutout and non-beveled nose, Gen "M" slides falling off of the Indy Metro PD guns, first year g42s that were very problematic, first year g43s that weren't as bad as the g42, but still- BOTH have had multiple mag revisions and internal parts revisions since year one- and that's with Glocks- which are ALL of ONE design! The gen4 recoil spring fiasco! 2006 era trigger safety lever probs with the g36. An Unintentional Discharge problem with early-mid 90s g19s. And the huge Six Part Upgrade to fix the Drop Fire risk with all pre-1992 Glocks. Again, ALL ONE design, never a "Recall"- only 'Upgrades/Fixes/Enhancements. The "brand new design p365" first six months showed some problems, but Sig had a one week halt of production in mid Feb 2018 to revise the sights and recoil springs, and mill corners off of barrel hoods, and also told customers to call for an RMA if their p365 was exhibiting any problems. At that point there were VERY few p365s produced, and Sig didn't actually put the p365 into full production until late spring early summer. In Spring, Phil Strader/Sig stated publicly on FB Owners' Groups and both Sig forums that they had a batch of brittle strikers, and were also revising striker tip geometry to reassure customers. By mid June, Sig had resolved the broken strikers, and "unhooked trigger return springs" (they were cut too short on one end and unhooking- they weren't breaking, it's why the dead triggers would work when inverted). Again, both problems went away in p365s made after June 15th. Rates of p365 broken strikers since then, haven't been any higher than any other maker's rate- because not even Glock has zero broken strikers even on gen 5s. As for the p320- it's been on the market almost five years now, and the single problem was the Drop Firing when the pistol would hit on a specific spot- the rear end of the slide. Sig has a Voluntary Upgrade program that is totally free including shipping, quick turnaround, and the triggers are usually even better. Even with formal Recalls, no maker can FORCE American gun owners to send their guns back- and with all Recalls, there have been plenty of owners who simply choose not to send them in. Somebody posted a great thread over at SigTalk about all the safety related problems with pistols over the years, and almost every single maker has had safety related issues- with many of them even coming in just the last 20 years. To summarize, even Glock- the gun maker of ONE design, has had plenty of problems- and they have never had a Recall, only upgrades/fixes. I'd offer that Glock perfected the art of the modern gun business, and all the others had to follow to be competitive.

Glocks are definitely not perfect. They have had several official recalls over the years. They owned their issues publically and fixed them without question. It's well documented. Just do a little looking around... and not on a Sig forum. Lots of bias on those forums.

Davon Norton I’d get a xcompact and sit awhile until the new sig Romeo comes out. I had an early 365 that had all the problems you read about. All my x series guns are 100% and shoot soft and straight. Dry firing a sig sucks, mushy and nothing tactile but live fire it’s smooth

I got to sample this at my range a few weeks ago and I loved it! My only gripe is the trigger reset, but I can live with it. I think this may be one of the most slept on personal carry firearms out there. Simply because of the naming convention of Sig Sauer (as this can be easily confused this with their "P320X Carry" and the "P320 Compact" models) and their reputation of lackluster iterative releases of the same damn pistol. I sampled the P320 full size before and thought it was OK, but when I sampled the "P320 X-Compact" I was impressed. And the 'bang for buck' of built-in features on this pistol provides an incredible value for the money you'll spend. If you want a nice robust full-featured compact carry weapon with a very reasonable price, you should check this out. This is my next EDC purchase.

Picked one up. I have about 40 of the gen 1 mags. Just like the Xcarry you will need the Gen2 base plate to use the old mags. I will use my 50 sig store coupon on some base pads. I am huge p320 fan, when I bought the full size vtac and xcarry I only had one gen 1 mag and my FFL swapped me that one. Now it's going to be a dragg with all those 15 gen 1 mags. However based on the reviews on this pistol I am sure the base pad replacements will be forgotten by me since this pistol appears to be winner in the other factors. My work pistol is a m17 Bravo, and this little one looks like a winner for my off work carry. Have to admit good review as always and excited to hopefully shoot this in a couple days.

Love this gun! First purchase of 2020. Thoroughly enjoy reviews like yours and Hickok45. Made excellent points about the crispness of the trigger out of the box leaving a little to be desired. For anyone thinking about this firearm and shying away due to that valid point be aware that this trigger does seem to break in once youve put a few hundred rounds through it. I like how you pointed out a few things I’ve found true with my P320 (full size); the trigger thud when the striker engages, and wear on the barrel which surprised me but hasn’t affected performance. I love the Sig sights. The high bore axis has never been an issue for me although a lot of people bring it up, it actually helps acquire the sight picture a bit faster. I’ve found muzzle flip about the same as my M&P full size, neither one I can rapid fire accurately... The flattest shooting polymer handgun I have is the APX and I can rapid fire it with decent accuracy.

If you haven't already bought the X-Compact put your subcompact slide on a X-Compact grip module ($59) install the flat face trigger ($50) and slap on some X-Ray sights? ($119)

If the guide rod is inserted improperly, the slide will not come back all the way. Looking at the shape of the end of the guide rod that clips into the barrel, you would think the flat edge rests on the barrel. Nope. The round edge rests on the barrel. I wonder why they designed it this way. Perhaps the tolerance of the cuts on the inside of this firearm are so tight that the sides of the guide rod need to be flat. If the flat edges are resting on the barrel, when the slide is pulled back, the guide rod points to the outside instead of pointing up with the slide back. Very smooth weapon. The trigger pull and reset are like butter. I don’t see myself ever getting rid of this very handsome sidearm.

About a hour prior to watching your video here I was at my LGS and I was checking out a SIG P320 X compact and a Glock 45. I've owned a Standard P320 C in the past and between the SIG 320X compact and the Glock 45. I'm heavily leaning towards the SIG, I like both makers equally but as far as ergonomics the Sig Spanks the Glock ass all day long. Just my humble opinion or valuation.

The Sig P320 XCompact has me really thinking about my Glocks. It's a great pistol out the box. Only con for me is the rear site being attached to the optic plate cover. However, it can be worked with. I was also leary on the trigger but its actually great once you start shooting it and its a soft shooter as well.

While the grip on the Sig X makes it closer to a H&K VP9 or a Walther PPQ in feel the old P320 grip is very Glock like the Sar 9 grip is also very nice with a price of around 300 dollars if your paying over 500 dollars or more for a handgun it's a must that it feels amazing in your hand this is the reason I'm just can't get excited about Glocks to many other gun options that just feel so much better when gripped

Been carrying my X-Compact for a few months now. Keep trying to think of a reason to trade it for something else, but every time I wrap my hands around that grip I forget all about that and say to myself "Man! That's a fine firearm."

I really like my x compact. I have the x5, the x carry and a 320 compact so I have plenty of mags for it. I also slapped a PL-mini 2 under it as well. Super review as always sir!!

There are a few Xcompact frames on Gunbroker now. They started at 59.00 but now a bit pricey at 79.00. If you already own a p320 Sub Compact you can buy that frame and of course put that slide on this frame. I did that with my frame off my new xcompact to my sub and it was pretty cool. Really liking this frame swapping capability.

I have a p320 and I love it but after holding an x series I'm glad it's modular. One of these days I'm going to get an x series grip module for it. I'm also going to get an 0365 xl grip module for my p365. I like the longer grip and extend beaver tail

If you don't orient the guide rod as shown above...the slide will get jammed up bad...I know. My XCarry is the most accurate shooting of the stable to include G19, G2c, several different MP's, and several different Cz's.

@@grumpysquid YES! It's now my wife's gun and I intend to get the XCompact with the smaller grip. The night sights alone make this gun a great deal better than most. I can get one locally for $550 (New 'Pro' version). Got to sell a guitar first. I pined for a PPQ until I shot it next to my XCarry.

Right up front. The P320 platform is my favorite. Over the years I have owned many pistols from many manufacturers. This addition is just another excellent variant added the P320 line up. For whatever reason I shoot the Sig better than I am. I've the X-Carry and the 2nd generation P320 Compact. However, the P320 Compact with Ameriglo and Apex flat trigger is my EDC and the pistol I focus my self defense training. Yep, I'm an up-front Sig P320 fan. That being said . . I enjoy them all.😁

I carried a p320 subcompact for a few years. Then got a 365 and I absolutely love it. For some reason I can just shoot very well with sigs. All my other carry guns ride the pine now that I have a 365 but a subcompact x series might be interesting.

While l like the Sig P320 X two years ago l chose a Walther PPQ navy 9mm over the regular P320 and now seeing the X am l glad l did so the PPQ has not changed if you purchased one today it's exactly the same while l like the upgrades the X has if l would have gotten a P320 two years ago l would now not be happy l think Sig does this to keep people buying makes me glad l got the PPQ can"t think of anything that should or would need to be changed on it l did change the guide rod with a stainless one and XS big dot night sights other than that the gun is very close to perfect

@@texasghost6725 l understand the frame thing but I've got 2 P99s a old one and a new gen and a PPQ all are 9mm the 1st gen p99 has been used and shot alot the frame is good and it's like new and it still shoots like new I'm sure it's got well over 4000 rounds through it it's. 20 years old got it in 1999

I have a 320 Xcarry and i put a GoGun Gas Pedal on it and it shoots incredibly well and feels great. Still works in my holsters with the gas pedal which is nice. I’m still on the fence about buying the Xcompact mainly because the carry feels incredible, conceals well, and i don’t have small hands so I’m not sure I’d like the smaller grip. But if it shoots as well as the Xcompact, then it must be a fantastic pistol

KSGunGuy it’s absolutely worth checking out. Has a bit of a price tag at 50ish but being able to dig your thumb down into it and grip the frame makes a big difference.

I think SIG screwed up, the slide release on the X series is no longer surrounded by a "trough" in front, below and behind it. So the slide release snags. I brought it up to SIG customer service, but the person I spoke to would not admit to any error on their part.

I love my 320 compact. I bought a 320 subcompact and didn't like the way it shoot. I felt the 320 xcompact and it was great. It seemed that in your video, it shot very flat. I really want one and would like to have the x carry also. Great video as always. You never said if you will keep it. I carry a 365 everyday and would love to have something a little bigger.

@broncos2763 Very unlikely. For AIWB it makes no sense to go shorter than the compact slide for 95% of body type and for 3-5 it doesn't matter. The difference in the slide length is only .3 inches.
