A cross draw holster is a good choice for wearing while driving. I made a cross draw flap holster for a Ruger 44 Magnum with a 7 1/2 in. barrel. It works well even while behind the steering wheel and allows for a good draw with the long 7 1/2" barrel. After the draw the gun would be pointing in the right direction unless the threat is approaching from the passenger side. Where this holster really shines is for deer hunting. The flap covers the revolver well so your location isn't compromised by a glinting shiney revolver. Got to admit these old style flap holsters are pretty ugly, but they work beautifully in the forest or hunting fields and even for comfortable carry while driving.

Can you make one that is more secure so I can wear it while moving around? Maybe something with belt loops instead of snaps.
