@@kmom777 I honestly have no idea about the differences between US-EU-UK models. In theory, the only difference in between yours and mine is the lack of the spring responsible for returning the trigger back in the shooting position. I have old videos, albeit poorly made/recorded. You may use them as a guide on how to put everything back together. In the end though, if you have removed all the possible screws (even on the barrel cover) , then you just need to "pry it open" in a way or another. Mine's a little bit sturdy in that regard, but that's it.

I really dislike this platform but I can try. The fact is, I fear that a major redesign would be necessary because many moving parts are made out of a soft lead alloy and they may break with more power. That's why I've lost interest. Nevertheless, I'm waiting for a new computer to arrive that I bought specifically for 3D design. We can discuss this.

How reliable is it if just changing to a 1400pai output regulator?
@FreedomAirguns Жыл бұрын
I didn't change the regulator, I've modified it by adding shims to increase the pressure output. You can do that to most regulators. There are many tutorials that show how to do that. You would need to buy shims and a manometer to check the pressure though, but that's still a cheaper option if compared to the price of a new regulator.

@FreedomAirguns2 жыл бұрын
There's no need to change the regulator on the 13ci tank, you just have to put some shims in it. I've used tuna cans cut to size... 🤣 You can make many shims with aluminum cans also and they're perfect for fine tuning. A huge one may just break the safety valve (mine has a 1.8k burst disc). Your mileage may vary. Be sure to get some replacements if you go THAT far and wear safety protection when filling the bottle. A burst disc going off has at least one chance of being DANGEROUS. Also remember that ANYTHING you thread ON regulators MUST BE THREAD-LOCKED with a PROPER thread-locker! The higher the pressure, the higher the chances of things UNSCREWING by themselves !!! Since it is a BOMB the one you put under your cheek, uttermost care is REQUIRED.

Prometheus pellet is it 9grains? That equates to 16fpe. How can others claim 23fpe. The best I get is 17 1/2 fpe with 1600psi
@FreedomAirguns2 жыл бұрын
I've shot at a max velocity of 1018fps with that pellet, it equates to 20 FPE, give or take. With heavier pellets, you can get more energy. The thing is, these power curves are not linear, as one might expect. You may think that by increasing the weight of the pellet you may get less velocity and, proportionally, less power, but it's not how this works. Say you have a 15 grains pellets and that the velocity drops to 856 fps from 1018. Guess what? You just shot at 25 FPE !! Some pellets from FX Airguns can get heavy !! Their FX Hybrid Slug in .22 cal weighs 22 grains and they also have a standard pellet in .22 cal which weighs 25.39 grains. Now, imagine shooting that at those velocities and do the math...🤣 You can even get exotic and shoot projectiles used to make bullets, which can easily reach 40 grains, but I don't advise doing that (they're longer than common pellets and don't fit in the magazine due to their length). By the way, at 1600 PSI you should be shooting the low 1000s fps - high 900s fps range. What's your velocity now? What pellet are you using?

Did you put a bigger washer or smaller washer in the air chamber assembly? Or both please explain. Would you say changing your washers increased volume and maybe produce more power? Have you ported any of the tubes? Or replaced tiny brass filter obstructing first bend following towards complete back of gun. Please help I’m in the process of attempting more power output
@FreedomAirguns2 жыл бұрын
I've used a rubber washer, slightly smaller, so, yes, the volume of the air chamber is a little bit bigger. If you just want a small boost, shimming the regulator for 1300psi is more than enough. If you get to 1400psi, you already need to put some shims in the blowback spring. This platform has been studied to make it tough to modify. The weight of the blowback-bolt MUST be increased, the blowback spring MUST be hardened, the blowback-bolt has holes that MUST be obstructed and the air chamber MUST be increased, all of this to get consistent results and a working semi-auto action. If you increase the pressure too much, the bolt doesn't have enough power to push the pin forward and you get a lower fps reading. I've tried increasing the pressure up to 1900 psi and the gun couldn't even get to 500 fps...This is because the entire system must be balanced around a certain pressure and everything must be modified accordingly. By the way, I did not remove the filters in the tubes but I've added some o-rings and teflon tape inside the curved fittings, to increase the sealing strength.

@@FreedomAirguns what a great answer! Bro you hit it on the dot. @@dironizareyes596 Try lead tape, like the one used by tennis players or a lead plate (Beware! Wear gloves and a mask if you handle lead! Wash your hands thoroughly and don't ever put them in your mouth!). If you increase the air chamber by removing a thread AND the pressure is increased, there is enough power to push a heavier bolt all the way back on a stronger spring! It's all a matter of equilibrium. If the spring is stronger, pressure alone isn't enough to press it all the way, both the air chamber and the bolt must be modified. Pot metal is perfect for the job, just pay attention to clean any excess that may get on the interior surface of the bolt. Also, do NOT breath the fumes of pot metal as it may contain lead! Safety first. If you'd like to wait, I'll take proper measurements since the same formula used to calculate FPE must be applied to the bolt to know how much power it has when pushing back on the spring and how much it has to weigh. If you can't wait, you can try doing the math yourself. Take measurements, see how many kg of pressure you need to press the spring, then calculate the rate of expansion given the pressure and predict the initial velocity of the bolt given its weight, so that you know exactly how much weight you need for any given pressure. Alternatively, just go with the flow and improvise man. :) Play around and see what works for you. I'll try to upload a video later today, showing all I said done to my rifle.

It's an awesome product in its power range, it just doesn't scale, which could be annoying among those who'd like to have more fun/power but proves how the manufacturer tried the best to abide by European regulations, more than anything else. That's all about it. In the short distance, I find it very precise, but you have to *weigh your pellets* , or you'll have variations in trajectory/wider groupings. A slight difference in weight is enough to destabilize the trajectory. The 9/10/11grains fly through the barrel like nothing and they're extremely precise. I've tried up to 21s, but I had to push more pressure for those. Velocities where in a range of 450fps to 500fps with those, if I recollect properly, possibly even higher. The 9s can be pushed at +-900/1000 fps, at 1400/1600 psi, but you need mods and then it's a rabbit hole. In a nutshell, replacement parts are nowhere to be found, as of today, as such, if you break anything, you're on your own.

Does the blowback cycle often get short and it will not recock itself after a shot? I think you said in the earlier video that you made the hammer spring in the tube harder. The blowback then also need to be harder to be able to reset the hammer against the harder hammer spring. You could try decreasing the holes on the sides of the hammer for the air to leak out of the chamber more slowly for a more powerful blowback. Filling the ports completely though, will just create unwanted pressure between the hammer and valve when firing and will dampen the hit of the valve. But way nice Chrono numbers! Seemingly you've found the Prometheus pellets. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I just mostly shoot RWS Hobbys because they're cheap and relatively accurate within 20 meters.

I know,right? That freaking pellet is NOWHERE to be found anymore !!! I had to contact an official reseller who still had them and bought 10 cans !!! XD On the "problem", I've fixed the "locking" a couple hours ago!!! I've placed a strip of copper adhesives around the air chamber to match the diameter of the firing-pin assembly, which is somewhat forgiving. I've already increased the strength in the blowback spring since some time now, even before the valve-mod. It was working perfectly before the other video. I was thinking about filling those holes but it's hard to find a solution which doesn't require soldering, to avoid an explosion inside the platform. I'm thinking about plating some copper on top of the chamber since the adhesive is going to wear out FAST...Yet, as a mere proof of concept, it's enough. I wish SIG made a power kit for this now. It would save some headaches. I'm trying to reach the supersonic mark with 25ish grains pellets. That's my goal. I mean, plinking is a lot of fun as it is but I'd love to put it in the "tool" category, IYKWIM. Thanks for you comment, it means a lot.

Don’t do what this guy did he’s dumb using a stiffer hammer spring in an airgun can potentially result in reduced power. The hammer spring is responsible for striking the valve in the airgun, which releases compressed air to propel the pellet or projectile. The force exerted by the hammer spring determines the energy transferred to the valve. Using a stiffer hammer spring can increase the force with which the hammer strikes the valve, but if the spring is overly stiff, it may not allow the valve to open fully or for a sufficient duration. This can restrict the flow of compressed air, leading to decreased power and lower velocities. It's important to find the right balance when adjusting the hammer spring tension in an airgun. Too much tension can impede the valve's operation, while too little tension may result in insufficient force to effectively propel the projectile.

@everythingdude4265 Жыл бұрын
His spring is to stiff it’s easy to tell because his semi auto function isn’t working as it should he has to manually cock it every time because the spring is to stiff and won’t engage the blowback block if he was seeing any real power difference from the spring than when the hammer strikes the valve pen it would have that extra kick from the spring to push more air out for a few milliseconds from the hammer hitting the valve but this is simply not happening and he fails to realize don’t listen to any of the bs this guy talks about awhile back he was cutting up cans and using those as shim pieces even though the stack wouldn’t correlate right considering how thin the shims would be he’s probably not even getting 1400 output because his sig seems quiet and I doubt he’s really tested it for 1400 output I got mine on 1400 and it’s louder than his he’s probably around 1200-1300 if that but he broke his sig and cry’s that they suck now so I wouldn’t even bother watching his vids on the platform he’s an idiot.

Too much tension can impede the valve's operation, while too little tension may result in insufficient force to effectively propel the projectile all the power gain you are seeing is all from the output reg btw a stiffer spring will make the semi auto not function properly and will not cock the hammer thus you have to do it manually hence the problem you are getting this spring is to stiff and is doing more bad than good the only way this spring would work correctly is if you buy an aftermarket 1400 psi output reg that has a bigger valve pen on the reg tip ensuring that extra umph from the hammer spring will for sure be able to hit that valve pen and disperse the energy back into the blowback block of the rifle what you did is pointless and is actually most likely decreasing your power btw stop using pellets and use slugs or you will never see true energy from this platform.
