Wonderful performance. I love the costumes, and the dancers are absolutely gorgeous! I noticed most of the songs they dance to are slow-paced, is that typical of Sri Lankan music?

nope. This is Sinhalese traditional ballet. When it comes to South Asian dancing styles they all look alike but there are lots of differences in hand motions/movements and all that. And also when it comes to South Asian dancing styles, they are not categorized by the countries, but specific regions of Sri Lanka and India. For example in Sri Lanka there's Sigiri Apsara dancing, Udarata Dancing, Kandyan dancing, Pahatha Rata dancing and many more than those I mentioned.

Thanks for your reply! They do have similar movements to Bharatanatyam & Odissi. Sattriya is also slow-paced with beautiful flowing movements like this. Beautiful poses at the end. Is there a name for this dance style?
