Great video, thank you! I have a 3055 with latest firmware ... I'm having an issue using EasyDMM ... I thought it would be able to connect to the 3055 via the LAN, but when I select VXI11 and enter my 3055 IP, it doesn't connect and returns an error. Can the 3055 only connect via USB? Which then begs the question, why does it have a LAN port?

Today I received my SDM3055 and I´m surprised that the power up is faster than what´s showed in this video. The Siglent Logo appears immediately and the total startup time is less than 30 seconds. Not bad.

Good work. are you aware of any multimeter that would give audible tone when measuring voltages. For multi point testing without looking up to the meter.

That path navigation is not that bad because it works as all the file explorer en computers when you navigate with the keyboard arrows. rigth arrow enters folder

Can you achieve most of these accurate readings with an osciloscope as well?

No, an oscilloscope ONLY reads voltage

I just got the multimetter and i'm having problems with it. After finishing measuring a resistor, sometimes, the auto-range relay get crazy for few seconds and then stops and display "overload". This does not happen when i touch the Black tip with my finger! Sometimes it goes crazy and instead of "overload" i get a mega ohams measurment while the tips are not connected to anything. something between 50-100 mega ohms. It's seems like Problem in the Black Connector.

Hello, really nice review one of many, im trilled to buy one of those contenders the Rigol DM3058E, PeakTech P4075, B + K Precision BK2831E and Siglent SDM3045X, for me fast continuity is important and precise reading as it can be on those unit, that is my budget right now. What would you recommend of those 4 . Thank very much.

I love the look of the Siglent, but has the firmware fixed/improved things?
@ShALLaX4 жыл бұрын
Yes, much quicker in the new firmware. Filter still takes a little while to settle, but it’s quicker now that the update rate has improved.

specs seem to say 240k count, seem to only use 24000 of those which is fair enough if you have noise, averaging and calibration mapping. 240k ADC costs 2$ or even less. Put a few temperature sensors on it and a digital calibration map and that might just do the trick. The oversized case is easily the most expensive part.

+Dan Frederiksen The ADC in the SDM3055 is a AD7190 with a MAX6325 Voltage Reference

+Michael Schneider interesting. thank you. 7$ adc. I wonder how relevant the voltage standard is, if a temp sensor and mapping is as good or better

I hope that someone please want to explain the difference between precision and resolution? (English is not my first language) As I understand it, accuracy is how near the real world, it shows. And precision should be the resolution it haves?
@GregorysMode3 жыл бұрын
Accuracy is how close it is to the actual reading. The closer it is, the more precision it has.
@friedmule54033 жыл бұрын
@@GregorysMode Thank you!! :-)
@pfbsouza3 жыл бұрын
@@GregorysMode I don't agree with this explanation. There are three different concepts that are frequently mistaken, which are resolution, accuracy and precision. Resolution relates to the minimum value that can be measured, and depends directly on the number of digits. Accuracy is, as stated before, how close it is to the actual value. Precision, however, is related to repeatability.

Hello I plan to make a purchase and I do not know if it is a good choice. Is it worth buying or is it 3045x? How do you do it after years?

The “overshoot” in two of the cases was mVDC. So it was not really an overshoot.

o-my.. it seems to take a lot of technology to make the 5.5 and 6.5 meters and the price tag shows it. 🧐 still it would be nice for some hobby versions some day. 🙂thanks. 🐼🌳☕ for some readings you do not need to look at the MSD just LSDigits such as hunting down a short circuit on a PCB and the like. Mmm. 🤔
