I had the Sony 200-600mm 5.6-6.3 G Lens, but it is too big and too heavy, not easy to handle, so I sold it in 2023. In March 2024, I bought the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens, it is so compact, so light weight and so easy handle and operate, I can hike with it for hours holding it my hands all the time. The optical image quality are excellent, I can very highly recommend the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens.

2 downsides. No TC on the Sigma. That's what put me off and of course the reduction in FPS. Makes no sense.

You get a TC for the L mount now and im not sure if one will come for the E mount, but that defeats the object of going light in my opinion. if you wanted to add a TC i would stick to the 200-600mm as for the 15 fps thats down to Sony not Sigma, Sony caped its high end fast cameras the ( a9 or Alpha 1 series ) to 15fps to any non Sony lenses, but this lens is about going light, thanks for watching

Just use a 61 megapixels full frame Camera in APSC mode or a 26 megapixels APSC camera and you have "750mm" !

@@cameraprepper7938 Sure, but with Sony it's 900 mm, with teleconverter 1260. That's almost a twice.

@@pentagramyt417 I would not use the 200-600 with teleconverter, I sold that thing because it is too heavy and big, not a joy to go hiking in the nature as the Sigma 500mm are !!!

@@cameraprepper7938 I agree with you 100%, I even think about switching to OM1 + 300 mm f4, but I just wanted to tell there is a much of a difference between 750 and 1260 mm. Sometimes I really wished I had 26 mpx left on aps-c mode, because it's not enough at 900 mm, and I am not even very much far from the bird, but it's just so small..
