You can dig a slight hole in a dry place and build your shelter on top, but you cant do that in a wet area because it will fill with water, but then you can look up a bear safe shelter and they are up in trees.

as Tom Brown said "watch the squirrels" thats how you learn to build an effective warm shelters. i wish yall would show how to build a Log Hogan for long term survival. I've built one a few years ago and it took about 3 days to make until i got it perfect. dug down inside for a fire pit. made a sapling & bough door. had about 2ft of leaves on top along with all the "Survival Cement" (mud & hollow grass combined) on the top and in all the spaces.

Bugs can always get to you. Usually though, bugs arent that attracted to things they cant eat and the ones that do want you, like mosquitos, typically couldnt be bothered when youre inside something. Think about it - When was the last time there was a spider in your house and it actually specifically climbed onto you and bit you? Just dont give them something to be attracted to, like food remnants or whatever. Obviously youll still get some ants, but you get them camping as well, so you know.

Can u guys make a video on how to build an off ground long term shelter

I've got a question. Do you by any chance have any shelters that are a lower profile so you are less likely to be seen/noticed and shelters that are kind of elevated off the ground incase you're in a wet climate?

You don't run out of air in that shelter? Doesn't look like it gets much ventilation
@sigma3survivalschool10 жыл бұрын
***** it breathes just fine. you can smudge it with smoke and make it come out the top, even it is 4' deep

Sigma 3 Survival School If you are making a survival shelter, how can you make sure it has good ventilation? Like if you are burning a fire inside, you don't want to be breathing in all the smoke trapped in there.. should you just leave a small opening or something in the roof?
