02.24.24 - Every single video that you provide to teach ASL is a guarantee learning experience. I retain something from each course. This particular learning video is exceptional. Before attending beginners ASL class each Saturday (today), I learn from you 2 hours each morning. I'd like to emphasize once again that your method of teaching is perfect for a beginner such as myself. In an ELVIS manner of gratitude, Thank You, Thank You Very Much !

Thank you very much for the kind words and the positive feedback! I’m happy to know that my style of teaching is so useful. I remember what it was like to learn, and I try to incorporate what I think would have helped along the way. I hope your ASL class today went well also! Best of luck with your language learning journey.

Thank you for this video. I used it as a reference and refresher! I have come across several deaf/hard of hearing individuals in law enforcement on traffic stops and I know it makes them feel a little less stressed out if I can know just a little bit of ASL.

Hello! I work in law enforcement and this video was awesome. Would you be able to show some basic interview nouns/verbs like being shot, stabbed, choked, gun, knife, punch, slap, etc? You are a phenomenal teacher. I’ve learned about 50-60 signs from you in a matter of a week!

Thanks again for the idea. How to sign “What’s your name?” is at the end and in the description.

Thank you again. Since you are not deaf, do you mind if I ask how you became involved with this area of expertise?

The first time I experienced ASL was in college. I liked it and decided to study it full time. I had no other outside influence.

Happy Yorktown Day! Today is the big 240th Anniversary of the British surrender here in Yorktown, Virginia. How would I sign that expression though? Would I simply use the ASL alphabet to spell out the words?
@ASLLOVE
@ASLLOVE 2 жыл бұрын
Happy belated to you! I would use the signs for "happy" and "day" while spelling Yorktown. The Deaf Community in your area may have a sign that they use but I am not aware of it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX25amebg9tsrK8

@@ASLLOVE Thank you! Sadly, our popular Yorktown Day Parade was canceled again this year. If you ever do get a chance to visit, Yorktown, Virginia is a charming little town situated on the York River. Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown are nearby as well.

i dont know if i missed it, but is there "Place ur hands behind your back"
@ASLLOVE
@ASLLOVE 2 жыл бұрын
Great question but unfortunately no, that was not included in the video. That particular request would need to be shown (acted out) by pointing to the individual and then showing your hands behind your back. Use the sign for “arrest” as well.

For the ticket one is that specifically a speeding ticket or can it be any kind of ticket like airplane ticket?
@ASLLOVE
@ASLLOVE 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I use that sign for all tickets. It can be used for a movie ticket, train, plane or bus ticket, etc.
