Thanks for the lessons! Can you clarify why you recommend (at 15:30) waiting for the higher low to go long, but you also describe the lower high (at 17:00) as a 2nd entry long?

What does a tick mean in ninja trader, my trade navigator has around 666 trades to match your charts, I watched time and sales to see if each tick matched a trade, and it seemed like it did on trade navigator. My volume varies between as low as around 2000 in night session to around 5000 average in day session with peaks going much higher.

It would be best if you google ticks and tick charts, as not enough room here to thoroughly explain it really. Different data providers may handle their tick data differently as well, so keep that in mind when researching tick charts.

Thanks, Mack. But the problem is that we can't know if a bar is indeed a signal bar as it is forming. We can only see that a bar is at bottom of a swing after the fact. How do we address that?

You wait until the signal bar closes. Knowing the key entry points in advance we are anticipating where the set ups occur, then we wait for them. If they don't set up, then no trade. If they do, you take the trade. Reading the chart is a skill and it is why this is not easy. You can learn to read the chart just like you can learn to speak a non native language, but it's not easy and takes time and hard work.

Not really. You are missing the importance of the strong support that was tested multiple times. That's a great long set up. Many people think that if prices are below the EMA, you can't go long and if prices are above the EMA, you can't go short. This is a misunderstanding, and in general, that is a good rule to follow, but it's not 100%. In this instance, prices being below the EMA is irrelevant to a long entry, because that's what prices do on range days. They flip back and forth above and below the EMA. You only go long off the lows and short off the highs on days like this, which means the best set ups are counter intuitive to the EMA rule in many cases.

Why are you using a 2000 tick chart when in your manual update you recommend using 6000 volume chart?

Because they fixed the tick issue that temporarily forced us to go to volume charts.

That is a second entry at 10-26, but the context of the price action is totally different at that point, so it's not a second entry that you want to go long at.
