These high level "tasters" can excite curiosity, but you need to go further and explain fundamental concepts in each element of the transmission pathway so that students can understand what skills they will need to become competent. I have seen this done for instance with GPS where the special and general relativistic corrections are explained in detail as well as the geometry of coverage. There is much more work in that type of video than this high level stuff of course.
