the BW-5 is such an excessively powerful gun its hilarious, firstly the calibre is 16mm, which is larger than 50 BMG used in anti-material rifles, secondly the bullet is made of tungsten carbide, which is the same material used in tank rounds, and lastly its tipped with PTFE which even further enhances its armour piercing capability like it didnt have enough already. i cant fathom why they would possibly need a rifle this powerful in a facility unless they were planning for a tank to suddenly break in

The PTFE coating wouldn't actually enhance penetration; it's necessary so the extremely hard tungsten carbide projectile doesn't damage the rifling in the barrel. As for why you'd need it - considering that Replikas are much more durable than human beings and some of them are heavily armored, it seems like a good contingency against e.g. a rogue MHNR unit.
