Same, they aren't representing bright spring anywhere, can have a brown/dark blonde for that one as well. Also, the whole vid is silly since it's only adapted to light skin women. POC can have summer coloring as well, but not according to this way of looking at it...

What about brown/grey hair? I have a warm brown base with grey, like to call it cocoa and icing sugar. I’ve been borrowing from both summer and autumn, I prefer oyster to cream, but I’ll take a peach over a dusty pink. So I don’t feel like I fit neatly in a season at all. I can see once I’m all grey, going into the summer colors more but my hazel eyes mean I can still hold onto the warm brown neutrals, at least I think so.

@@karenpenner2231 everyone seem to have different ideas, but I really subscribe to the "only the undertoner counts" theory. Basically you can't find your color season from looking at your hair or eye color, only your skin tone/undertone and contrast levels count.

I love your videos, Ladies! Yesterday I wore a new white cotton blouse, so cute. I realized while at work that it does nothing for me - too white! I am going to tea dye it. I am sixty eight, with hazel eyes and grayish hair - different shades. NONE of the colors you suggest in this video would suit me! :D My skin has a definite yellow undertone and even though I am paling out in my late sixties, I still feel like the autumn colors suit me best. A warm gray color looks well on me. I will say that since I started avoiding sulfates in my shampoos, my hair is less silvery than it was, but it isn't yellow, just has a warm cast. But that white blouse drained me. I enjoy your repartee and the way you two can finish each other's thoughts - you're both lovely girls. Thank you for sharing. xo

"Cattywampus" - what a fabulous word! I've never heard it before, so thank you Lucinda. Thank you both for a very interesting video on optical illusions. I hope you do more on this topic. Some years ago, when I was volunteering at a bird rescue charity, a vet told me that there is no blue pigment in a blue jay's feathers - the colour is just a trick of the light. Amazing!

Oh I like all things colour. It’s fascinating. I got sick of black. Thinking I might be some other season I donated nearly all of my black clothing. Then I find out I’m winter. I’ve managed to get over all of it but one black shorts suit. I’m still crying internally.

I had cute leather kitten heels in jalapeno green at one time. I could wear those with so many colors. I am a blonde summer who wore an awfully lot of jewel tones in those days. I don't even like green but those shoes were the best.

Thanks for the timely advice. I have been subscribing to capsule wardrobes but think I will create my own this summer. The last one I did in the spring had Light Cool colors for the Soft people (and I am Warm and Soft) and too many trends recommended that I don’t like. With what I am learning here, I am feeling way more equipped to make my own capsule 🎨 Wearing blazers in my town is not exactly a look that fits in

I have noticed in the past couple years that Talbots is almost totally for winters or very high contrast people….which is sadly why I don’t find much there anymore but if you are deep or clear, it is a goldmine!

I love your content, I learn so much! I have a question, what sub season is the middle hair in, on the third wheel? I have that hair, cool leaning, light-beige neutral skintone, and "-ish" (mostly green with gold flecks) eyes. I thought I was between soft summer and soft autumn, but this chart makes me think I'm more in the light category, or more towards spring? I am so confused. 😂

Well hello you beautiful people! I am totally here for your challenge and have subscribed, as I've found several of your videos very helpful - and entertaining so far. So here's a question from a Bright Winter from the German Alps. I need a lot of layers, even in the summer. How do I compose a capsule that most frequently needs a top, a bottom, and a layer, AND often a jacket too. And shoes, obviously. Do you have guidelines for choosing colors for each "level", like should all my accessories be "safe basic colors" so that they go with any outfit? All my jackets neutral? All my layers dark, all tops in the "WoW" colors? My reasoning is that inside a capsule, any top should go with any bottom piece, and any pair of shoes, maximizing the possible outfits out of the available pieces. I would very much appreciate your thoughts on this. PS, i was very sad to learn the reason why orange and beige makes me look like an axolotl, and no amount of make up can compensate for it. So I'm learning to do like Elsa and Let it go.

I’m autumn and have eliminated most black and white from my wardrobe. It’s difficult but it forces me to be selective when purchasing. Swimwear is tough. 90% of plus sized swimwear is black or cool toned.

I'm an autumn too & I've dyed my white blouses into off white, using tea. I like them more now. I don't have black tops (never liked them, even when I didn't know abt color seasons) but I have black pants/ trousers because they're my neutrals (and easier to buy in my area). Cheers!

I have an entire closet of black shoes because that's all they make in 6 to 6.5 W or WW! And COVID meant a large reduction of choices for me. Talbots, which was a go-to site for non-black cute shoes discontinued their entire Wide range. The Me Too company, which makes fabulous ballet flats for dancers, etc. with a padded insole also discontinued wides in all sizes. Sites for plus-ladies' fashion normally don't go below a size 7. I hate "vegan" shoes because they don't breathe.

Have you tried Conform View or Propet? Both carry extra wide shoes in some colors and fairly current styles.

Please, can we talk about the ash brown summers that don’t have enough contrast to be winters, but are not blondes? I’m pretty sure there are more of us than blondes. You never show us in your videos, and it feels a bit one-dimensional. Not all summers are blondes 🤷‍♀️

I’m a summer and my hair does not fit into any of these categories because its a kind of taupe grey, with some strands of grey. I do feel inspired by this to put some capsule colours together though, to match my hair.

Yeah, it's a big flaw in their theorisation. Basically it only work on white women... And they're even to one-dimensional for us, lol, I'm a bright spring and my hair color is darker than any example they have for spring. My daughter is soft summer and her hair is also darker than any option they have. My bf is a redhead with a cool skin color, very fair, summer color skin but warm hair. I just disagree with using hair as a determinant. Ofc it can affect how clothes look on you, but it won't change your fundamental base coloring.
