IMO Michael (One of the best Bassist) and the other Guitarist only look stiff as a board because if you notice, they're standing on tables that don't look sturdy. They were all jamming. Ah, the good ol' days of LIVE performances and MUSIC with vulgar free lyrics and beautiful soul sisters "sangin' in the background!" Stevie is the 8th Wonder of the World, a Masterclass performance as usual.

Stevie went Church on us. Great performance. Background singers, exquisitely harmonizing and literally following all of Stevie's moves. The consistency of Mike's bass and the drums locked in a solid tight rhythm accompanied Stevie's style as it kept him on course and in control.

Michael, You were in fact one of the Funk Brothers. If James Jameson doesn't make the date, my understanding is that you did on numerous occasions. I had the pleasure of meeting you in San Francisco at the intimidate setting of the Keystone Corner in North Beach. You and the group of Detroit players were outstanding, you just killed it on the Alex Ax bass!! On the studio date with the Dramatics, who was your lead guitarist /soloist and other players on Thank You for Your Love? I met Rudy Robinson, Rod Lumpkin,Mr Chandler and I can't recall some of the other players, but had seen them also working with Earl Klugh. You and Ray Parker jr lit it up again at the Oakland Museum, On the Green Festival.Roberta Flack and you gave us, At The Concert with Patrice Rushen and an All Star band.

Wow I didn't know that comedian Wanda Sykes was a backup singer for Stevie Wonder.
@itsjustme51962 жыл бұрын
Considering the fact that this performance was from the year 1970, and Wanda Sykes was born in 1964 and would have been 6 years old at the time, she and her parents didn't know it either. Now, which one of the three backup singers is she❓ 🤔 👀🤣. Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) was the first single Stevie Wonder produced on his own, and was the first to feature his female backup singing group composed of Lynda Tucker Laurence, (who later became a member of The Supremes), Syreeta Wright (who also co-wrote the song and later married Stevie Wonder), and Venetta Fields.
