Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding - SAPS and Transnet

The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola, and the Transnet Group Chief Executive (GCE), Ms. Michelle Phillips, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance efforts to combat crime and to deal decisively with the damage and theft of critical and essential infrastructure.
Transnet has been experiencing security incidents and vandalism of its infrastructure and assets, resulting in the loss of revenue and critical infrastructure necessary for its operations.
