I got my hands on this yesterday. I was excited before playing with it and wanted to love it! Horrible for me. I’m a power and placement player, and after playing this for 7 hours, I’m not impressed. Will return it next week. My serves were not as powerful as when I use my CRBN 3x 14mm or 16mm. The sweet spot on this paddle is very small. You need to hit it dead center to get a good topspin rotation on the ball. The handle is heavier than I would like. Too bottom heavy for my game. If you like to slice and dice your shots, then it fits your game. However, I prefer my Diamond 6.0 amethyst for slicing and dicing because it’s lighter in the handle. Darn it, I had so much hope watching the reviews on KZbin.

@@sam777tx did you get the 14 or 10mm? And yeah ultimately it’s hard to beat an edged paddle tbh. Return it and move to what you love! I hope my review wasn’t misleading. I try to be as genuine to my experience as possible with every paddle I use.

Just better in every way really. Bigger sweet spot, more power, more spin, more durable. Just better all around :)

Great review. Did you get a chance to test the Epic 14mm? The swing weight and twist weight of the 10mm Epic is 105.2 and 5.76 according to your test. I got 106 and 6.9 for the 14mm Epic from another review(Briones). If these numbers are accurate, the 14mm Epic is a much better paddle. strangely enough, I only found the swing weight & twist weight for Invikta, both 10mm and 14mm, on the Selkirk lab website but not for the Epic.

@@benwu3150 that’s where it becomes subjective. I think the 10mm version is more of the stand out because of the pop and power coupled with the core tech. Yes you’re correct on paper the 14mm has better stats but then you’d just be comparing it to other 14mm paddles and it falls short. The 10mm is unique and has properties that allows it to shine a bit in the marketplace. Otherwise just grab a paddle with an edge guard that’s way cheaper 😊

Not more powerful than the mod, and it is pretty jarring but it’s a fun paddle. 😊

@@stspickleball Thank you. I got it about a week ago. Played with it and found the paddle very light from the factory. Box says 7.9 but my scale said 7.6. I added the tungsten tapes that came with the paddle and still find the paddle unforgiving as in very small sweet spot. Power is definitely there. I think this paddle is made for offence. Poor in defence.

Very muted in my opinion. Hard to feel where the ball landed on the paddle face. But if hit out of the sweet spot you will still feel it. I changed my grip to gamma hi-tech because it’s much firmer than the original Selkirk grip, but I still can’t feel much after all. Lol. Rather than that, it’s a decent paddle. I have the 14mm btw, the 10mm might be better 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah not super great indeed. Pretty low. But room to work with on the 10mm with lead. The sweet spot is about what you'd expect for an edgeless. Pretty tight, but it's a fun paddle to play with I have to say.
