Being in my 50s now, I’ve gone on quite a few dates in my life. And I have to agree with you. From my experience, he has to approach you first. I know that’s not always the popular belief, but it’s wired into our biology. Men do the pursuing. Women do the attracting. The times I’ve done the approaching/pursuing never ended well for me. There is a man in my life right now who is giving me mixed signals. Sometimes he seems extremely interested….looks directly in my eyes, chats with me, flirts, and smiles. He even gently touched my arm once. Other times he barely speaks and won’t make eye contact. Maybe he’s shy. Maybe he’s awkward. Maybe he’s confused. Maybe he’s fearful. Maybe he doesn’t like me.

Forgive me I'm writing this again! We stared at each other at a distance and when we were just an arm's length from each other he didn't even look at me! It's been this way since last year! We have met and spoken only twice and that's just it! He always makes himself visible to where I am and never moves to approach. One time he even walked in front of me staring at each other smiled and that's it! No words no greetings but simply stare at each other. This Christmas, he walked past me as I greeted him Merry Christmas he responded by saying Merry Christmas without even looking at me! So weird!
