I'm guilty of giving more than I should in the past , but I learned that over investing doesn't give time for true courtship to take place. I would say that he likes you if he introduces you to his family. And even if that happens be careful to look at the parents /relatives reaction when you meet them, or what they say. But you felt that you still were going to *"wait"* , until the *"right and perfect"* one came along, based upon some cinematic, Deborah Winger/Richard Gere dream criteria you built up as a teen. In all honesty, your chances now of finding love and marriage in this age and your time of life, are *exponentially* low, bordering on impossible, being realistic. Men now(especially financially-stable ones), are *not* staying local/loyal to their towns and their eligible dating pools(as they did in *your* day), marrying their HS sweethearts, etc, as they have far too many state, national and *global* options, have the tools to date multiple women, and are loaded to the gills with cynicism and disloyalty, mostly based upon the unfavorable/disasterous experiences they've had with women in their past who were not relationship/marriage-minded(although they may have "claimed" they were those things disingenuously many times, to many men). These dynamics over time have *grooved and groomed* aged 40+ men(who are innately pragmatic and practical to a fault), to simply live their lives seeking self-enjoyment, paying only passive attention to love/relationships/marriage, and seeking out and enjoying the company of multiple women in numerous locations, whether those women know he is doing it or not. She's right; I dated a guy for 5 years. We were very consistent but it never went anywhere. This was during college so for the first couple years, I understood it wasn't necessarily committed, but if after a year or two if he's not talking about the future...then you have a problem. Thank you for these videos. The bread crumbing, ghosting and gas lighting these days. After, a year and half of learning the new “dating “ rules, after my divorce, I am done dating for the moment. Working on myself and enjoying being by myself. Found out, all the new terms and now know the signs, to not continue dating someone. And it’s not just other women sometimes either. For me I learned this the hard way. Either I am a priority to them or I’m not, and the specific reason becomes rather irrelevant. I have to measure it by where I am in my life and by knowing what I want and need and my own standards with that. Sometimes they are married to their work or can’t prioritize their life or say no to this or that thing. So, even if I don’t know why, if I’m not a priority, I won’t hang around for just mere leftovers or not being the priority I feel I need to be. I have come to a place in life where I’ve learned to prioritize and I have enough free time to build a relationship. If a guy isn’t there also, then we are not really at the same place in life and it won’t be a great match. After checking out a few (3) of your video's, I can't help but notice a pattern here with you...structured, calculating and an over thinker. Meeting new people is clumsy. So easy to mis read, mis interpret and feel uncertain and it's also immature (I think) with disclosing too much, too soon, and for many reasons. When you like someone it should just flow and be nice, comfortable and easy (I agree) but in my experiences the person may have a life to complicate their relationship, children, a sick parent, a failing business they also can be distracted by. But consistency is key (I again agree) but also some people get nervous when not knowing how to be open enough to be believed...maybe due to bad past relationships. I also think if you want someone you will find a way, if not you'll find excuses, lack commitment and where it should be easy, it's ambiguous. A relationship should not be hard on any level when trust and communication is there but life is dynamic, just work within it.

I've been dating a guy 12 years younger than me but we have no problem with age at all. It's been great until recently that we cannot see each other because of COVID. OK I have been in a committed relationship before and accused of seeing others. That is a red flag of lack of trust so let's just be more than one sided with your opinion because to me that is all it is. OK well about secrecy you know when you tell each other the things that might cause you to not trust later. How about being with someone for a few weeks when they say they don't smoke then reveal they do, 6 months later she tells you she has been married 3 times when all you knew about was one and how about when you are applying for a house loan oh say 22 months and she tells you that you cannot put her name on the load because she filed bankruptcy 3 years before. I don't think it's a problem that you're dating more than one if you're honest about it. Or if you haven't defined a relationship. If you're deliberately only dating one person it's a relationship. If you haven't defined a relationship it's ok to date around. However, the problem is if he's lying about it, i.e. he makes you believe you're the only one. That's dishonest. I know a guy who continually dates sevwral women and they all believe they're a couple. It's making him exhausted from trying to hide them from each other which is abit pathetic. But, I believe the girls know about it and still hang on hoping he'll commit. They must know when he's always only available one evening on the weekend. New year's really stresses him out... 😄

What if you don't get all these signs in the beginning because usually either love bombing starts or just everything they do is all about you and then later on in the relationship then they start cheating. Because toxic men usually wait until you are married, have their child and you are well away from family and my toxic man I had, he talked the talk about these things, that he'd booked our wedding at the local registrar and I thought shit I had to cancel it turned out he didn't but I had to make sure. He said he wanted us to start making babies but I said, it's not a good idea if he owned people money. Said about moving us in to a flat - but he never did any of those things, what he did actually do, was, try to set us up with a joint bank account - at the time I was very anxious, trying to distract him trying to do everything I could without a clear no. I'm not doing that. Because I was scared, I had a fear of loosing him. He wanted all these plans for our future and I wanted that but I felt he had to be handled in a delicate way. Anyway that was the only thing he actually did and thankfully it was refused - my parents kicked the roof off the house when it came through but considering everyone was team against Allan and they said horrible things about him to me and I couldn't stop it I didn't feel I could come to any of them. In the end I ran away from home to be with him, to be with the only person in my mind who understands and loves me - my parents got me back, and I just thought they were horrible but I fought against them to be with someone who I loved but I know it wasn't love it was the fear I wouldn't end up with anyone and also when I hear about love bombing and hearing the oxytosins and all these chemicals going off in your brain that's what was happening to me and I felt that was love. I felt that was it because if I felt he was doing all these red flags in the beginning I wouldn't have got as far as I did with him because people are on their best behaviour at the starts of the relationships and it's only when you feel safe, when you feel invested do they then start revealing. I mean in abusive relationships verbally or emotionally most things start after the birth of children

I think for abusive relationships , they will always have the underlying toxic behaviour which can be seen early on if you recognise the signs , however its true , things are magnified once they have the marriage and child .
