@@JohnDoe-xk8iy simple answer, no. Complex answer, it depends on what you are going for. The goal for me is control of sugar and other inflammatory foods. The goal at every meal should be highest quality fats. I'd rather eat Sardines or mct oil after a candy bar rather than fried-in-canola crap.

@Reaction1s5 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-xk8iy watch the new video. Autophagy happens... always; Fasting, keto, and exercise increase it. Excess carbs switches how it happens. Edited to add: the fasting/keto lifestyle works so well, i don't really consider 5 cal (=ACV or Lemon J) worth consideration. I group my cals after long durations, not 45 or 100 again and again.

Here is how I know I got my husbands inflammation down. He no longer experiences pain in his hips, knees, feet. Colder weather still has not affected him. He always had a complaint of a pain or an ache. He is 58. Bad knees. We started eliminating all unhealthy oils, sugar. I buy organic as much as I can, grass fed meats with no antibiotics. Grass fed butter, creams and anything else healthy I can find, including pasture raised eggs. We do IF and Keto. He lost over 40 pounds. Diet/ nutrition truly are the keys.

Great video! I am doing my PhD in immunology and I found that most (if not all) modern diseases are due to chronic inflammation but there are some "easy" ways to lower your inflammation. What worked for me the fix my chronic knee pain, was to increase my omega-3 intake!

@AMDG_-nk2dp5 жыл бұрын
Optimize with science, you might want to also try a dietary supplement called celedran. It is an esterified fatty acid complex that can work better than glucosamine and chondroitin. It has an affinity for the joints and knees. Works for pain AND rebuilding. Msm is also great for pain inflammation and rebuilding. HA or hyaluronic acid, along with collagen type II can help pain and rebuild the joints for strength. Metagenics makes a product called SPM. It is a stronger, more potent form of concentrated fish oil that is very effective for inflammation and pain in the body. If one takes regular fish oil make sure it is purified and no heavy toxic metal content. Only truely reputable brands are Nordic, Carlson, metagenics. IMO. Hey this natural stuff really works. Jean.

@@dyahviona Good question! I am flexible here. On days when I eat enough fish, I don't take supplements but I found that there are too many days when I have to rely on supplements. Also, eating sardines, etc. is super tasty but you don't want to do it for lunch and have a meeting right after :D

Chronic, systemic( wide spread, throughout the body) inflammation is present in a large majority of the population. Here is a list of what I take daily. Highly concentrated fish oil, magnesium complex, systemic enzymes. The systemic enzymes (proteolytic) must be taken on an empty stomach to work properly. After taking the enzymes you must wait at least one hour before eating or drinking (except water). I've been using these supplements for over 30 years and they make the difference between pain-suffering and good health.

I'm confused. I weighed 268 pounds in April 2019. I've been doing the Keto diet since June alternating between Keto and Carnivore. I weighed in at 220 this morning. I'm excited but I used 3 different BMI calculators and all said I'm still obese so I adjusted my weight in the calculator to find normal. It's the range of 125 - 169. There's no way, I haven't been under 200 since high school. I think this discrepancy in BMI calculations is why the obesity rate is so high in America. What do you think?
@constancejenkins38675 жыл бұрын
I believe it's because the SAME BMI is for a person whose a 5'4 ..and 180lbs Female ..and a Female that's 6'0 ..and 180lbs you have to evaluate all the factors in the scenario ..and this being Height Not just weight and I also believe other factors are Bone density and Ethnic Differences and Genetics I hope this helps I myself have wondered the same thing..
@simono65205 жыл бұрын
@@constancejenkins3867 BMI is calculated using only height and weight.... the 2 examples you gave will give very different BMI. BMI is a very basic measure of obesity because you can be heavy set or a very slim build - fat percentage is better I think but if you have a BMI over 30 you are unlikely to be healthy unless you are a bodybuilder and packed with muscle.

? In the U.S. very little people have a doctor through the exchange that would let you choose any sort of treatment, it's almost all hmo based. We can't all afford private doctors that will actually let us choose our tests. I know I certainly wouldn't be able to do that, and I certainly can't pay out of pocket for it when the costs here are ten times or more what it is in other countries. Why are so many of us trying to sort these problems out on our own through diet and exercise? Blunt answer... because may of us are our own out here. Doctors either push pills for big pharma or follow their system to cut costs to the point that they're only interested in helping us when it's critical.
