Its true most counsellors don't handle the subject of narcissistic abuse right....while at university, I visited two different counsellors explaining the situation of my bad relationship with my father which was hurting me badly...hoping to get some help...only to be told... "u see that's your father, his behavior is because he loves & wants the best out of u" which was total nonsense to me..I felt that nobody could ever understand if the counsellors had failed...I later found all my answers on the internet & I'm still seeking to learn more. I now understand situations better & I'm much happier.

Thank God if You've are clueless of existence of Such people. Am not sharing for sympathy but to say; Narcissist people don't even believe they are narcissists they have Perfected the art of Playing Victim.

Non-victims cannot understand when it comes to narcissists. I find your description very exact to my situation from cutting off one's social network, unapologetic and having a grip of you. Benjamin now they have upgraded after they note you have realized and they would tell you the situation needs a counselor. They suggest to you a list of people and you choose the one you think it could be hard for them to be communicating. Only to later realize she pumped him lies for you to come out of the counsel room enslaved to them.

Benjamin Nzulu, you are an enlightenment to this generation. You don't respect old held notions about human relationships and serve the brutal truth. Every time I listen to you I laugh alot, acquire wisdom and get validated on some things I have known to be true. You recently stated that some disputes between couple can't be settled by relatives sitting to discuss. Such like abuse, neglect, irresponsibility, infidelity can't be discussed away. These symptoms of.personality disorders and can't be wished away but dealt with or discarded.

Narcissism, overbearing folks and many other generational curses aren't embraced in Kenya (Africa) as much because they are engrained as culture norms, as a victim of control and overbearing folks and I can tell you it can really mess your life if you choose that path, that's why self awareness is so essential. I haven't taken therapy yet but still I have a channel enlightening the young adults age group about this issue. won't take it no more
@anifamango67562 жыл бұрын
I agree... Some people are just fostering abuse in the excuse of customs. Even if you grew up in a traditional conservative set up, if something is wrong is just wrong and if you are enlightened enough,you simply need to use your common sense and break away from such customs.

I will say one thing here and it may sound counterintuitive but I feel it is a another side of the coin to what Benjamin is talking about. It is not enough to identify that you are either a narcissist or someone who's suffered from their abuse. It can happen in all forms of relationships family, work, places of worship. But if and especially, the victim once the realization sets in, do the work to unravel and unlearn what forms of behaviour displayed leave one vulnerable to narcissists. Otherwise one either jumps from one extreme to another or repeats same harmful behaviour. My advice do the work
@nzisam81782 жыл бұрын
Benjamin and Bramwel, please have a discussion on moving on after narcissistic abuse in marriage, from parents & at the workplace and especially the importance of professional help to undo years of abuse, wrong beliefs in calculated and fear.

Great conversation. I'm just here wondering how people become narcs. Is it inborn, is it acquired..how can we train our children in a healthy way in that they never become narcs. Could you handle that next time Mr. Benjamin
@yourstoplossismyentry2 жыл бұрын
Narcissistic personality disorder stems from bad parenting. Either 1. The child is neglected and ignored. Like how we tell our little boys to toughen up instead of acknowledging their feelings. 2. Telling the child they are too special. Eg soccer mums and child celebrities. All the above scenarios lead to the child seeking external validation because they have no inner sense of self value. This was not nurtured. Hence why narcissists act like kids. The tantrums, seeking attention and validation, silent treatment, staring at people and so on. Because there's a child whose needs were never met. Watch Dr. Ramani ' mirroring, how not to raise a narcissist'

Most of the times is child upbringing, life experiences as you grow. But majorly it's the parenting style. That's why most narcissist are men... Because they are told to be tough and all that nonsense and the girl child is taught to be submissive, obedient to the brothers and all that nonsense of traditions. Eventually the lady turns out to be a people pleaser and a super empath and the brothers turn out cold and mean. But that does not mean we don't have narcissist women... Narcissistic people come in very many versions. It's not black and white.

Benjamin I have a question,I fight my husband from meeting her sisters because they can party for a whole weekend,they can decide to have road party and at this time his phone is off..then I will know he was with them on Monday...one of the sister is a lesbian,so she always meet him with her girlfriends.and remember at this time he never told me that he will not be around over the weekend. This act hurts me most and once he's back..there is always a quarrel .so he now says am separating him with his sister's. am I a nastiest?
@margaretwachoro75322 жыл бұрын
There is a show that Benjamin said if your partner never tels you his or her abouts it only means he doesn't care about you from Friday until Monday is he even serious with you?he is not the right man for you
@anifamango67562 жыл бұрын
Is that a problem that really affect your peace? Is it a deal breaker for you? Is it something he's willing to work on? How consistently is he doing it? Like is it a pattern?. At this point it's not a him problem but rather a you problem. You are the enabler ... You have to choose to either stay or leave after considering all the factors.
