The actress they cast to play Stiorra was so PERFECT. Not just in the physical similarities to Gisela, but also in how she is that perfect blend of her parents. The way her and Sigtryggr's relationship develops as well from his hostage to his loving wife is incredible, as is her determination to carry on his legacy. One thing I wish they had not cut from the TV series is their daughter, who Stiorra named after her mother. Then, like Aethelflaed, she would have that reminder of her one true love with her always.

I hate stiorra. From the get go she’s an overly emotional (typical) brat. She tells Uhtred that he doesn’t understand her pain, meanwhile he’s lost HOW many lovers of his? Iseult beheaded, Gisela dying cause of birth, Aethelflaed dying in his arms, meanwhile for years he lived in pain since he couldn’t be with her. Stiorra is a brat that has no idea what her fathers been through. Uhtred even struck a sweetheart deal for HER, and she embarrasses him in front of Edward. Not to mention her goading Sigtryggr into battle which ultimately got him executed. He even told her that if she said no, he wouldn’t fight, but of course her overly emotional idiocy got the best of her. If she had died earlier on, I would’ve celebrated. I much preferred her husband Sigtryggr, and it sucks that’s he died. He was a cool headed, reasonable and intelligent man, and he was unfortunately married to a brat.

Achei tão lindo qd ele disse q se ela dissesse nao ele n lutaria...ele era tudo isso q vc falou...um cavalheiro com ela...acabei de ver a morte dele e apesar d achar lindo eles dois, odiei ela! E o pai dela por sempre fazer a vontade dos Reis, Alfredo, filha de Alfredo e Eduardo! Até Ragnar ele abandonou uma vez pela filha d Alfredo...sofri mto c a morte d Ragnar tb. Qd Sigtryggr entrou na serie meu coração ele ficou lado a lado no meu coração com Uhtred. Guerreiro diferente de todos ali, ponderado, e até taciturno. Cara só abria boca para falar de forma certeira!!!

I concur with your statement that Stiorra was Sigtryggr’s downfall. Which reminds us what Sigtryggr said to king Edward in an earlier episode “I have no children, nor a wife. Which is why I am stronger than you.” Poor Sigtryggr and his tender-hearted being! Hadn’t he had married that brat and fallen under her influence, he would’ve continued to thrive and stay alive.

​@@freddypaulino1957 she was so mean to Uhtred and kept saying all that crap about how he didn't know her pain when he'd experienced her pain literally 4 times over. She pushed Sigtryggr into war and he died because of it. He asked Uhtred to be the one to kill him because he wanted to die with honor and Stiorra took it out on Uhtred like he'd volunteered to just kill Sigtryggr on a whim. Maybe she wasn't the worst but she wasn't great either
