Thank you for sharing. But it's not entirely true is it, to say, that MPLS does not care about the IP? Switching labels are locally significant, but correlated/mapped to destination IPs. All MPLS routers then share their own local label table with immediate neighbors, on the right and on the left, who then switch the labels in accordance with the corresponding neighbors' label table correlating to the destination IP. So, in order for MPLS to work, all associated P-routers in the ISP must be IP-route-aware to form their own Label-IP correlated table. And the addition or doubling of IP destinations would require flooding of all the new routes and reformulation of Switching label tables and cascading updates throughout the MPLS network. How does this translates to scalability, I am wondering? I am definitely missing parts of the whole picture here. Just thinking aloud.
